(That's not the trouble bit). Mum decided to fill the pond in, and emptied it with a bucket down the drain, which took ages. Then she put stones in the bottom, and lots of earth. I helped! When she went in to wash her hands, she'd lost her big diamond ring. (That's the trouble bit.) It was insured though, and she's getting another one, so I don't see what all the fuss is about! Subject: My trip to see the vet

(Does anyone know a way to undo cages from the inside?)Anyway, the needle was OK. I hid my head in Mum's jacket and it didn't hurt a bit. Then Mum asked the vet to check that I was definitely a girl - of course I'm a girl - and I got a bit agitated. Wouldn't you? Other than that I was a very good girl. First it was Auntie Sallie and Lucie for a week and then Uncle Jeff and Daniel arrived too. Now you have two weeks of our news to catch up on. Sassy has had a great time swapping beds. She let Lucie share her bunk bed for the first week, but after that she slept with different people each night. Treacle has been sleeping with Auntie Sallie and Uncle Jeff, and he's not happy now that the bed has gone. There has been some naughtiness. Sassy brought a live bird in one day. It made a mess on Auntie Sallie's bed. Unfortunately by the time Mum followed the trail of feathers to her room the bird was dead. Another day Sassy climbed a neighbour's clematis to catch a bird. Naughtiest though was Polly who brought home a rabbit. Mum had to go out in her dressing gown to chase Polly round the garden. This time there was a happy ending. Well, there was for the rabbit. our mum has been up to today. She went to a safari park with our cousin Beccy. She saw lions, white tigers, rare African white lions, wolves, llamas, water buffalo's, deer, emus, zebras,black rhino's, elephants, fishes, spiders and camels. She got to tickle a giraffe on his nose, and cuddle a baby goat! She hasn't stopped going on about the giraffe since she got home, she says she wants one!

Treacle and Polly had their vaccinations on Saturday. Polly had lost weight since her last weight check and is now under 6 kg.

Basil and Ollie went to their new homes, but Foxy is staying for two weeks.

We got four more kittens on Monday, but they are poorly and had to go to the vet's.

Dad had a birthday and he is 40!

It snowed this morning.

Hi Crouch cats,

I thought I could do you a weekly update to read when you get home.

You know about the kittens. They came on Thursday and leave on Sunday or Monday. They're OK.

Sassy and I had our vaccinations on Saturday. I was supposed to go this week instead, but Polly forgot to come home in time and I went in her place.

Polly also forgot to come home at bedtime last night and it took Mum and Dad an hour to find her. They weren't impressed, especially as Dad had to get up at 3.30 this morning to fly to London.

The other day Sassy let a shrew loose in the bedroom.
