Date Posted: 16:57:05 09/07/06 Thu In reply to: Taylor 's message, "Change of heart" on 14:55:55 09/07/06 Thu Chantilly was so used to grooms hustling around her that the feeling of Taylor's hand upon her leg was barely an inconvenience. Without giving it a second thought, she lifts her foot for her and holds it up until Taylor is through with her inspections. Just as carelessly, she places it back down on the soft grass beneath them. Her muzzle hugs the ground as she takes mouthfuls of the foliage offered to her. A running dog in the distance catches her eye. She raises her elegant head and watches it play, her ears pricked forward and eyes alert. Mr. Cohen's gaze falls upon the mare and a small, pleasant smile spreads across his face. Everything about her was to be enjoyed, such as her never-ending curiosity. He then pays attention to Taylor once again. Another small smirk plays across his face at all of her questions. Towards the end of her list of questions, Mr. Cohen looks a bit worried. With his lips clamped together in a worried manner, he shakes his head. No, m'am, I'm sorry to say she does not know dressage. She is very well schooled on the flat but knows nothing more than leg yields and figure eights. She has done dressage patterns, such as serpentines, but knows nothing of a half-pass what-so-ever. As for cross country, I'm not sure she could stand up to the uneven ground. She's very sturdy but by no means is Chantilly stocky enough. Her legs are more slender, for agility. Yes, she does have the endurance and no other could match her speed. She is in impecable shape so pulling herself together inbetween fences is no problem. Like I had mentioned before, Chantilly cleaned up in the 4' working hunters. She was always the hack winner. When she trots it's as if her knees never bend. He pats the mare on the neck as he speaks about her, dissappointed that Chanitlly Lace wouldn't fit Taylor's criteria. The gelding however, knew dressage and was more stocky. He, however, would not be able to produce a foal for Taylor. He had started out as a dressage mount but his owners decided to harness his jumping skills instead.
