In reply to: Rilla 's message, "what do you care?" on 00:36:52 05/03/03 Sat

Toad looked away at her sharp remark. What the hell had he said wrong? ... he couldn't figure it out. So yes, by all means -- blame him for being a simple-minded guy... Pretending to be oh-so-interested in the spring-splashed scenery outside the window, Toad nodded slowly before mumbling, "Yeah... and I'm sorry for asking. I suppose I was wrong to.. um... ask such intruding questions." Although his voice was sympathetic for the most part, it also held a streak of sarcasm. Really, he didn't believe what he had asked was that bad, but supposed she did. Princess Pea is back, he thought as he pulled his hands up to crandle his cleanly-shaven chin. Glancing back at her momentarily with an indescribable expression 'cross his features he shrugged, "If you didn't want to tell me, then you didn't have to. Or don't, next time -- if it'll make you feel better." Feeling as if he wasn't worthy of her truth, he glanced back to the scenery as it flashed past his window. Although he liked Rilla, she was driving him bonkers right now... One thing was clear: she obviously didn't want him any closer then he was, because she was so damn unwilling to give him even the slightest explaination of her background. Something a little less vague would have been nice, Toad thought as the ocean rolled into veiw.
