I was really dissappointed to read the responses by Mountsorrel Parish council to the housing proposal by Jelson.

The first response was really awful, i.e. they reluctantly support the proposal. The minimum I expect as a resident is for the parish council to believe wholeheartedly in the decisions they are making on the behalf of our village(even if I wholeheartedly believe they are wrong).

The second response was again awful. There were many words, but in short as far as I can tell they were basically saying that even though building 200 houses on the edge of the village, next to a massive quarry is wrong, Jelson are paying for a new memorial hall, so it kind of makes it okay!

I may have misunderstood the situation and their responses, but personally as a resident I am left feeling massively dissappointed in our Parish Council.

I really do hope that this proposal does not go ahead. I personally would also like to see the village developed in a much more sensible manner. I have nothing against new housing developments, when they are well thought through, but building 200 houses on a field that is a mile away from the village centre with no public transport and next to a quarry, that's just ridiculous!
