Date Posted: 22:34:17 06/04/05 Sat In reply to: Nitasha 's message, "hope slowly fades" on 21:43:33 06/04/05 Sat Baylina did not want to let Tasha down, but she was not sure that grabbing the child from the king’s grasp was even feasible. There was a decent chance that Craven would not sell her to Bay, but the woman intended on attempting to take the girl into her own custody –she did not want to let Nitasha down. ‘Damn it, the last thing I need is a weakness…’ Bay thought, realizing that she was starting to view the child as another person to protect, and Baylina did not think she was ready to take yet another person under her guardianship. ‘What would Lyra say?’ Bay thought casually, wondering what the cheerful girl would have said. ‘Why bother wondering…I know what she would say.’ Lyra would have pushed Baylina to accept the task and never look back. After all, it was always Baylina who said that everything happened for a reason, and perhaps she had not arrived in Rome without a reason. The young woman had been to deep in her own thoughts to recognize the signs of disappointed themselves on Nitasha’s features; however, the girl had little to worry about –Bay would do what was necessary to keep her out of harms way. Things seemed so out of place, so unexplainable and desperate, and Baylina felt like she had been hit with way too much at once. In a mere day, she had arrived in the largest place she had ever seen, killed a royal guard, and met a child that could easily find a way at her side someday. Things blurred together and transformed into thoughts and emotions of uncertainty. Bay still held onto the depression of losing her former life…and the child she would have given her life to protect. Death was an easier way out, it was a path that could end the events that were currently taking place. On the other hand, Bay knew death was selfish, and if she had lived her life to assist others, then wouldn’t it make sense that she carry out her life long occupation until the very end? Once Nitasha spoke, Baylina snapped out of her endless train of thought and stood to follow the child out. “Lead me wherever you wish to go. I will merely follow.” She told the girl quietly. It mattered little where they went, as long as she learned her way around. Bay also wished to tour the castle in order to study the way the others lived and perhaps learn of a few others who lived within. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
