Subject: Innis' arrival
In reply to: Muskie Smudgekettle, from Telle Bent 's message, "As Requested..." on 20:41:04 09/20/03 Sat

The moon rose and crept across the sky, and as it reached its midnight hour the mist began to creep around the steps of Sir Wieland's, a damp, thick mist congealing off small puddles of water splashed liberally along the streets and sidewalks. A dark shadow was silhouetted against the fog, easily ten feet tall and growing as it moved closer to the house followed by a soft "tap-swing-tap-tap-swing-tap" of a cane over the cobbles.

Innis stood over the doorstep, mist still wreathing his form, as he leaned down to look at the bread and letter of reply. A slow smile crossed his broad, thin mouth, nearly bisecting his face and showing his gleaming white teeth, canines eerily fang like.

Reaching down, he idily inspected the bowl for any potential traps, hidden needles, or explosives. Finding none, he opened his mouth wide and shoveled the bread into it, chewing slowly and considering for a time the taste of the bread. Finally, he read the letter of reply and replaced it with a letter of his own under the now empty bowl.

"Sir,

I am pleased that you have accepted my proposal. I will require some initial investigation of the workings of your domicile before I can give an accurate quote for my services. You may expect my presence shortly after moonrise tomorrow.

Your most humble servant,
Innis Dupoir Nachtsteltaffen
Master Civil Architect of the Morlock Engineer's Guild
Mist City"
