Subject: Is it possible to copy cassette tapes to cd's so they then can be downloaded to an IPod? I have the entire Bible on cassette tape, I can't afford to purchase it again on CD but would like to get it to an IPod. Any suggestion?

[> I'm sure it's possible, but you probably need special equipment which will probably cost more than just buying the Bible on CD. -- JAG Junkie (Ronda), 05:00:11 05/07/07 Mon [1]

[> I'd really like to have something like this done, too. I have a cassette tape of just some Sunday afternoon conversation and laughing with my mom, dad, aunt and uncle. They're all gone now, and I'd love to be able to have their voices on a CD. Do you think there would be any place to have it done? -- Carly, 19:46:28 05/07/07 Mon [1]

[> [> There used to be a company called "LifeClips" where you could take your old tapes (VHS, 8mm, whatever) and they would convert them to DVD. They used stores like Eckerds, Walgreens, and CVS (you would drop off your stuff at the the film counter and pick it up several days later). But now with the rise in DVD burners/VCR combos, I don't know if they're even still in business. It was kinda expensive to have it done. Try searching the web. You never know what's out there. -- JAG Junkie (Ronda), 20:05:07 05/07/07 Mon [1]

[> Well did you know Microsoft (among others)makes computer software to do what I want to do! The internet is a wonderful thing. Apparently you can convert cassettes and records to CDS. Some software will even "clean up" the recordings. I will deffinetly have to try this. -- usmgrad, 19:18:20 05/08/07 Tue [1]

[> [> [> I know you definitely can with records. In fact, a lot of the songs I got from people on Napster (way back when you could get out of print stuff for free on Napster and the world was a better place) were obvious converted from records. You can hear the record pops and everything. Sigh! Those were the good old days... -- JAG Junkie (Ronda), 17:27:47 05/09/07 Wed [1]

I used Google search "cassette to cd". There are apparently several software companies out there. I will be looking into this in the near future - when work time allows. From what little I have read it appears to be rather simple. We shall see.
