Subject: Help setting up a Yahoo email account in Entourage (part of the Office for Mac)

I have a new MacBook (woohoo! :-)) with the student version of the Office for Mac, which includes Entourage. I have successfully set up two of my email accounts in Entourage (worked like a charm, no thanks to me since it did it all by itself, LOL). Now I tried to add another account, which is with yahoo.com, but when I verify the account settings, it keeps telling me that either my yahoo account name or my password is wrong. But I put them in correctly; I know they are right.
Has anybody encountered this particular problem, or has an idea what else I could do or try out etc.?
Thank you!

[> I'm sorry Colie, I have no idea. Is there an online help line for Office for Mac? I can access my POP and Yahoo emails from my MacBook, but then I can access them from any computor. Can't you get into your Yahoo by just going to mail.yahoo.com, or am I being too simplistic? -- Cece (who perhaps, doesn't understand the question.), 10:55:43 10/12/07 Fri [1]

[> [> Uhm, yes I think you are, LOL! I can regularly access my email through the yahoo site, that's not a problem, but I wanted to add it into Entourage (which is like Outlook) so I can access all my various email accounts via Entourage, pulling them off the internet and into my computer. I am just going to have to go bug the geniuses at the Genius bar!! :-D -- Colie, 13:43:06 10/12/07 Fri [1]

[> Colie, I don't use Entourage on my MacBook. When you choose the kind of email server are you selecting for Yahoo? You need to choose IMAP - not POP. IMAP is for emails that reside on the server. POP email downloads it to your computer. If that's not the problem, check out this site that steps you through the process: Click here -- judi who loves my MacBook too, 10:56:06 10/12/07 Fri [1]

[> [> Hey Judi, thanks for the tips. It didn't work though, and the tutorial didn't have any new information. Bummer. -- Colie, 13:37:22 10/12/07 Fri [1]
