Subject: Changing the desktop background

I have changed the desktop background many times my right clicking with no problem. I have been trying to change it to a new picture, but when I right click, the present background flickers but does not change. What am I missing?
How can I check if I accidently changed a default or something else I really don't understand?

[> Sorry, for being so piece meal, but thinking back, I believe the problem started when I tried to right click on Spudz's "looping" smiling Harm from last Friday. A box appeared that asked about defaults and I thought I just closed the box ,but maybe I clicked on something else. Any help would be appreciated. -- ED feeling rather computer challenges at the moment, 17:53:55 10/21/07 Sun [1]

[> [> FYI for anyone else it may help with a similar problem. A relative (computer expert) helped me fix the problem by going to START > ACCESSORIES > SYSTEM TOOLS > SYSTEM RESTORE which will give you a calendar that you can pick a date prior to when the problem started. It worked for me. -- ED, 04:59:04 10/23/07 Tue [1]
