Subject: Had a friend that decide to go out and buy Vista and now is regretting it. Also could have problems with old hardware not being detected and not having updated drivers for it.
In reply to: Hope 's message, "Actually at this time more likely Vista won't run old programs well. I have been reading some boards and not many are happy with Vista. I would wait quite a while before even thinking of buying Vista. I would head down to a local computer store not the retail chains and ask for their opionion. After installing the new parts will more than likely have to reinstall XP since the differences are so major." on 06:34:34 02/08/07 Thu

[> [> [> [> [> [> Question. DH has beta Vista as a secondary operating system on his computer but hasn't had any real problems so far that I'm aware of. Could it be that he doesn't have problems because it is secondary and not primary? He has all sorts of software and hardware running, a lot of which is old. Or are we just lucky that it is all working with Vista? -- JJ (Ronda), 09:48:05 02/08/07 Thu [1]

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> I would say more lucky and not everyone has problems. But I know a lot of people are having problems with hardware and software. Also the release version that is out now should be better than the beta version. Also if you know what you are doing and how to find drivers or fix things than better off than someone who is a novice and wouldn't know what to do if something doesn't work right out of the box. -- Hope, 09:52:18 02/08/07 Thu [1]
