Subject: It's called BamaWisp. They are a local company - you have to be in line of site of their antenna, but I think there is a network of those kinds of providers throughout the Country.
In reply to: out in the middle of nowhere sj who is thinking from what I've read that satellite would be worse than dial up. [> [> [> [> OMG!!!!!! I DID IT!!!!! I called Verison and they said I was actually in the area now for a wireless broadband card. Sprint (who has my cell phone service) said I am just outside what they show as their service area, but suggested I get their card (free after rebate) and try it, 30 days to opt out. IT WORKS!!!! You don't even know how much better this is going to make things. Working already long hours and putting dial up in the mix on top of that is just unbearable! I'm SO excited!!! Thanks Carrotts and everyone else for their suggestions! I think (pray) I've made the right decision...inside -- sj...now on cloud nine, 22:07:18 02/27/07 Tue [1]

with this service I can take my laptop anywhere I can use my phone and access the internet high speed! I can use the blasted thing in my car between appointments now if I need to!!! Its supposed to be unlimited access too and was cheaper in both equipment and monthly fees. The tech support was great as well! Hope I stay this happy lol!
