Subject: OK, I give up. "1990's - America spends tens of billions to defend Germany from Islamic hordes." Help me someone, I don't recognise what this is referring to. I know the "Islamic Hordes" got to the gates of Vienna and introduced them to coffee, but that was Austria, and that was in 1683.
In reply to: SurveyGuy (The next decade should be interesting) 's message, "Someone sent this to me. Admittedly it is somewhat slanted, but still worth the read." on 19:04:52 04/07/03 Mon

[> [> The list (with no author) may be referring to preventing hordes of Islamic refugees from fleeing Bosnia-Herzgovinia/Albania into Germany. Just a guess. The term may be a misuse of the several historic events, even of 600 years ago and earlier. When you get this stuff in emails, you must take the content with a grain of salt, unless researched. That is why I clearly gave my source as unsolicited. -- SurveyGuy (The point is that plenty of treasure and blood was spent on Germany. Too bad - I like their wines.), 16:41:09 04/09/03 Wed (pcp01422563pcs.lndsd201.pa.comcast.net/68.81.153.209)

[> [> Upon investigation, I cannot discover any clear reference to that item anywhere. In any event it does not change the main point. Thanks for pointing out the apparent error. Anybody note any other obvious errors in the list? The main point again is that either Germany is the cause of trouble, or needs to be assisted, yet their rhetoric was unnecessarily harsh in their dissent. Time to pull NATO out of Germany and let them spend their own damned GDP for defense. -- SurveyGuy (The re-emergence of overt anti-semitism is something equally unsettling.), 14:34:36 04/11/03 Fri (pcp01422563pcs.lndsd201.pa.comcast.net/68.81.153.209)

Do you? Read History books...maybe not from Germany, I hear they are re-writing theirs.
