Subject: Buh-bye Phil Donahue

Mr. Donahue seems to be a decent human being, for a knee-jerk liberal. I actually tried to watch his dreadful show. About 2 minutes maximum was all that I could take. Less when he went into his high and mighty act.

I think that the public is generally more wise to the shenanigans that he could get away with in the "old days." Now that shrill, phoney indignation is just offensive. That is why he is gone in my opinion. That is why those liberals who follow him will meet the same fate in that genre unless they have something of substance to offer.

Any other thoughts on this or related stuff? Then there's Dan Rather ....

My nieces could have come up with tougher questions. They are 12, 8, and 3. -- JL, 18:55:17 02/27/03 Thu (pcp01376707pcs.selrsv01.pa.comcast.net/68.80.69.241)

[> We have not subscribed to cable or satellite television at our home and consequently we do not have access to the Phil Donahue Show. Nevertheless I did not miss him. It appears that he had no competition in his first run and hence, was the only show in town and appeared to be a success. Now that there are other options, he bites the dust. Frankin will probably die on the vine as well. He is dry, not humorous, self righteous, and wrong on many of his claims that I have heard him make. -- William, 04:27:44 02/28/03 Fri (cache-dq01.proxy.aol.com/205.188.209.133)

[> He takes a false premise or accusation and runs with it as if he is making political commentary and humor simultaneously. As a result it comes of as if he passed gas after eating something foul. In other words, it stinks! -- William, 04:28:46 02/28/03 Fri (cache-dq01.proxy.aol.com/205.188.209.133)
