The French promised to veto any other resolutions, sight unseen, which Blair and the UK and Bush and the US brought forth. The bottom line is, they, the UN, dropped the ball. The US, UK, AU, Polland, Spain, and others, and now the approximately 47 countries who support this war, got off their asses and took action, something the UN did not do for more than 12 years. During the evening and overnight the temps have gone from around 50 or so to around 40 or even dipping into the 30s.
