The pageant is scheduled for May 10, 2008 @ 2pm. Will be held at Willacoochee Elementary School. Entry fee is $ 55 includes Beauty, Photogentic, Prettiest Dress, Prettiest Hair & Most Beautiful. We will have a Peoples Choice queen in each division and an Overall Peoples Choice. You must collect $ 75 to be eligible for Overall People Choice.
Division Queens will get trophy, Monogrammed sash, Nice Crown & Monogrammed Pillow Case. Runners up will get trophy, optionals will get trophy. Division People Choice will get trophy. Overall People Choice will get same as Queen.

It is mandatory that the contestants stay at the Holiday Inn. The Holiday Inn is our state headquarters! The Miss National Forestry Queens were special guests at the 5th Annual Agricultural Week in Georgia Kick-off Festivities in Atlanta, Georgia on March 18th. The event was held at the Georgia Freight Depot. The queens were invited by Governor Sonny Perdue and his Agricultural Advisory Commission. The queens had the honor of meeting and talking with Governor Perdue at the Georgia Forestry Commission exhibit. While there the queens greeted guests at the Georgia Forestry Commission exhibit and passed out free dogwood seedlings to the guests that attended. The National Forestry Queens that attended were Laura Johnson-Miss National Forestry Queen and Miss Georgia Forestry Queen, Madison Woodson-Junior Miss National Forestry Queen and Junior Miss Georgia Forestry Queen, and Chyanne Yarbrough-Teen Miss National Forestry Queen. The Miss Georgia Forestry Pageant is the oldest scholarship pageant in Georgia going into the 69th year. Author: Anonymous [Edit]	Date Posted: 17:47:44 03/05/08 Wed My sister went home with Jesus yesterday. She fought a short battle, but a hard battle. I want to thank everyone for being patient with me. I know I've been a little slower than usual updating websites, answering emails, and posting messages...even had to put Tift County Forestry off for a little while. I promise, I will catch up soon. My sister got sick back in December and it has been a battle ever since and I just felt like I needed to focus on her and my family for awhile. A lot of you knew what she has went through, but she isn't suffering anymore. It is hard to say goodbye to your Big Sister. I had to do something yesterday that I never dreamed I would have to do, I had to tell my 92 year old daddy that he had lost a child. It doesn't matter how old you become or how old your parents become, you are still their babies. Please continue to keep our family in your prayers, I know the days ahead will be hard, but with prayers and the love and guidance of our heavenly Father, we will get through this. God will take care of us and help to heal our emptiness and pain. Her name is Annette Griffin, she is at Bowen Donaldson Funeral Home in Tifton. Join us for a night discovering that "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" at the 2008 Miss Wayne County Forestry Scholarship Pageant, Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the Screven Elementary School in Wayne County. Baby, Teeny, Tiny, and Little will compete at 5 pm and Junior, Teen and Miss will compete at 7 pm.

The 2007 Wayne County Forestry Queens, Melanie Hollingsworth, Hallie Graham, Deanna Flowers, Mahkala Shuman, Addison Jeffords, Mattie White, Faith Dowdy, Bailee Banks and Jolie Jones will be bidding us all a farewell.

Entertainment will be provided by Gina’s Gems.

General Admission the night of the pageant will be $7.00 each.

The 2006 Miss Wayne County Forestry Queen and 2008 Miss Wayne County Queen, Lacey Odum will be our Mistress of Ceremonies.

Girls winning the Miss Wayne County Forestry Pageant in division Teeny Miss through Miss will go onto the Miss Georgia Forestry State Pageant in Tifton this June to represent Wayne County, Georgia.

Rachel Hendrix was crowned the 2008 Miss Toombs County Forestry Queen. Rachel attends Robert Toombs Christian Academy. She is the 17 year old daughter of David and Cindy Hendrix of Vidalia. Laura will receive a scholarship to the school of her choice at the end of her reign next March. Rachel’s sister queens are as follows: Teen Miss – Keri Lynn Knight, daughter of Vance and Sheryl Knight; Junior Miss – Mackenzie Wilkerson, daughter of Mike and Mollie Hubert; Little Miss – Maggie Wright, daughter of Rusty & Michelle Wright; Tiny Miss – Cealy Shiver, daughter of Chris and Stephanie Shiver; Teeny Miss – Ana Watts, daughter of Jimmy and Stephanie Watts; Baby Miss – Marley Palma, daughter of Michael and Janie Palma. The director’s award was presented to Kaitlyn Wilch and her mother Leanne Manning for devoting countless hours and effort toward promoting Forestry and raising our Scholarship to $500.00. This $500.00 scholarship was presented to Laura Johnson, our 2007 queen to continue her education at Georgia Southern University. She plans to Graduate in 2008 and will pursue a career in teaching. Randy Mosley, chief Forest Ranger, opened by welcoming everyone to the annual pageant. Our 2007 queens Laura, LeighAnna, Kaitlyn, and Jayla all entertained the crown by dancing just before relinquishing their titles to the new queens. Sassy Sisters Dance Studio also was a part of the entertainment for the afternoon. Thank you to our Judges were Lydia Luke, Arther Eld, and Elaine Black, they did a wonderful job, and also to my auditors, Lydia & Leah!!The Gift Box in Lyons donated our new queens’ roses, and also decorated our wonderful stage. Special thanks to our pageant committee, Laura Johnson, Leanne Manning, Kaitlyn Wilch, Kim Hilton, Brian & Debbie Turnbull, and Bruce & Elaine Conner, for without you, this pageant would not have been so successful. Queens will make appearances throughout the year promoting Forestry - Georgia’s number one Industry. They will travel to Tifton in June to represent Toombs County in the Georgia Forestry Pageant. Ana and Cealy will compete on Friday, June 13th, Maggie and Mackenzie will compete on Saturday, June 14th. These girls will only have to compete onstage for their competition. However, Rachel and Keri Lynn have several things on their agenda for the next week. They will go on a Tree Farm tour, Georgia Agirama Tour, have dinner with Tifton City officials, ride in a Motorcade thru Tifton, attend a Formal Ball, a private speech and interview session with each of the 5 judges and then they will be escorted by limo to the finale, onstage competition on Saturday, June 21st. A send-off party will be held in honor of queens at 5pm on Saturday, May 24th. All friends, family, & community are invited to attend. Please RSVP by May 15th. I would just like to take the time to thank Mrs. Kerri Smith for going out of her way to make me, as well as my new sister queens feel welcomed into your Forestry family. I know this year will be awesome and full of great memories.

Congratulations to my sister queens! I look forward to spending a lot of time with you guys :D

Thanks to Laura Johnson for all your help in preparing me for the pageant.

Ms. LeAnn, Thanks for the backstage support, cheering, and fabulous photography!

The dress is a strapless baby boy blue gown that flares out at the bottom it starts out at the top as a silvery blue and end at the bottom as a baby boy blue. I know this is last minute, but if it is ok with your directors, please come and join us in Brunswick Saturday AM for a fundraiser for Seth Mitchell who was recently diagnosed with cancer. He is only 4 years old. Friday is Seth Mitchell Fun Day and Saturday there will be a yard sale and bake sale at Kids First Daycare in Brunswick, GA. For directions etc... please call Shannon or Keegan at: 912-261-9900. I have asked that my queens come with crowns and sashes wearing white or khaki pants with a nice white shirt, no jeans.

She fell while at a dance competition with her daughter Madison this past weekend in Atlanta and has a 4th degree ankle sprain. The doctors have told her that she would have been better off to have broken her ankle. She is expected to be on crutches for 6 to 8 weeks. The pageant will be held on February 23, 2008. The age divisions are Baby Miss ages birth to 23 months, Teeny Miss ages 2 to 3 years, Tiny Miss ages 4 to 6 years, Little Miss ages 7 to 9 years, Junior Miss ages 10 to 12 years, Teen Miss ages 13 to 16 years, and Miss ages 17 to 24 years. The number of contestants in each age group will be limited and accepted on a first come first serve basis. Baby through Junior Miss will be scored on personality, beauty, poise, gown, and overall appearance. Teen and Miss contestants will be scored on interview, public speaking and evening gown. The queens will serve as ambassadors along with Smokey Bear in promoting Fire Prevention for the Forestry Industry in Tift County. They will promote the Tift County Forestry Industry at parades, ribbon cuttings, television, radio, they light the turpentine still at the Georgia Agrirama, and participate in the Georgia Arbor Day celebration. The Tift County Queens will receive their entry fee paid to the 69th Annual Miss Georgia Forestry Pageant that will be held in Tifton in June. They not only represent Tift County at the State Pageant, but they serve as the Host City Queens for the state pageant. The Miss Georgia Forestry Pageant is the oldest running scholarship pageant in Georgia going into the 69th year. The Forestry Pageant was started to provide scholarships for young ladies while promoting Georgia's most valuable industry Forestry. The Tift County Forestry Queens will receive a full round crown with emerald and crystal stones along with a matching scepter, and crowning pin. They will also receive a satin custom embroidered sash, flowers, silver engraved tray, savings bonds, scholarships, and gifts along with their entry fee paid to the state pageant. There will be a winner and three runnerups named in each group. We had a wonderful group of girls tonight that competed for the title of Miss Berrien County Forestry. But first I want to thank my judges, they had a hard time, also my to Shannon and Blair Joiner and Brandi and Brian Griner who are parents to Margaret Joiner, 2007 Little Miss and 2007 Tiny Miss Taylor Griner. Also a big thank you to my husband Wayne and my son Andy for being there for me these 2 days. Thanks also goes to my sisters Charlotte and Carla.

Madison, Emerald, and I were recognized and I gave a speech on how the forestry pageant promotes both the forestry industry and women's education. We had our pictures taken with Robert Farris, the Georgia Forestry Commission Director, and of course Smokey Bear. Everyone was very friendly and we were seated at our own table in the front. We were treated like true royalty! Everyone raved about how great of a job I did with my speech. I was even offered a future job with the Georgia Forestry Commission! The Decatur County Forestry Pageant is Back and under new directorship. It will be held Sat. Feb 23 at the Bainbridge/Whigham Auditorium. We are very excited about the pageant and hope you will come and join us!

Divisions:
Baby (0-23months)
Teeny (2-3)
Tiny (4-6)
Little (7-9)
Junior (10-12)
Teen (13-16)
Miss (17-23)

Baby-Teen is open to ALL COUNTIES
Miss must live, work or attend school or reside in a bordering county

Entry Fees:
Entry fees are $120 and includes all optionals, which are, prettiest hair, prettiest dress, best personality and photogenic. It also includes 1 backstage pass! And No Ad Sales! Deadline to enter is Feb. 20

They are traveling to Atlanta on January 30th. They will be having lunch with Georgia's Legislators and Laura is on the agenda as a special speaker. She will give a three minute speech on her duties as the Forestry Queen and also on Fire Prevention and the Forestry Industry.
