Last month FeisPix announced that its existing website would be replaced with a new site by the end of the year, but that it would not be possible to migrate images from events in 2014, such as the World Championships 2014 in London. The replacement new site is now up and running as of Christmas Day but it may be a little time before it permeates into the world networks. And the good news is that we have decided to dedicate some considerable time to re-uploading all the world images from 2014. The re-uploading process of World 2014 is almost 50% complete, and the remainder is estimated to be complete by the end of the year.
In order to view the image galleries it will be necessary to log-in and create a new password. All accounts from the old site have had to be deleted.
The new site has an increased range of goods available to customers including a variety of crystal items with laser engraved images. Please check out the site but if you have any difficulties in �seeing� it after 48 hours of this message, please contact us on john.feispix at gmail.com.

FeisPix is currently designing a modern up to date website to come online in January 2015. The new site will have an extended range of photo accessories including laser engraved photos on crystal, both 2D and 3D. Our aim is to offer the highest quality crystal pix at the most competitive prices. We invite you to 'compare the market' and let us know if it is cheaper elsewhere. But we will not compromise on quality.

Regrettably we will not be able to migrate the current batches of feiseanna and Oireachtais photos to our new site. That will mean, for instance, that the photos from major events in 2014 will no longer be available for viewing on our new website in 2015. If you intend to download photos from any of our events in 2014, including the World Championships in London, you are advised to do so before end 2014. The site will be starting with a clean slate of new events from January 2015. Please communicate this info to all your friends. The message will also be posted on Voy Irish dance message boards around the world.

Superior Skilled Irish Dancers

� Must be of Open Championship level preferably World Qualifier or equivalent standard.
� Previous show experience and/or a back-ground in performing arts are highly sought.

Video Audition Requirements:

� Hard shoe - Jig and/or Hornpipe - at least 32 bars (Two steps, right and left). No more than 48 bars required.
� Soft shoe - Reel for boys & Reel and/or Slip Jig for girls 32 bars is adequate.
� A short a cappella piece and/or a Treble Reel - Two steps,right and left.
� If applicable, please include a clip of your professional Irish dance show performances.
� We must be able to see the full body of the dancers in the recording at all times.
� DVD�s and photos will not be returned.

The National feis is being held at Cashmere High School, Christchurch on 25th and 26th October. The syllabus and entry form can be found on the TIDA website or on the Christchurch Irish Society's website <a rel=nofollow target=_blank href="http://christchurchirishsociety.co.nz.">http://christchurchirishsociety.co.nz.</a> Entries close on 1st October and no late entries will be accepted.
Rodney Walshe, the Honorary Consul General for Ireland in New Zealand, is once again providing a travel scholarship for the winner of the Ulster Cup. We are also offering a Tuition scholarship. Please see the syllabus for details and eligibility for these classes.

Superior Skilled Irish Dancers

� Must be of Open Championship level preferably World Qualifier or equivalent standard.
� Previous show experience and/or a back-ground in performing arts are highly sought.
� Please provide a full length photo and headshot.
� Must be at least 18 years of age.

Resume Information:

� Name, address, phone and email address.
� Height
� Schools attended including Irish dance schools.
� Summary of most notable competition achievements.
� List of show experience.
� Availability: beginning March 1 throughout 2015.

Video Audition Requirements:

� Hard shoe - Jig and/or Hornpipe - at least 32 bars (Two steps, right and left). No more than 48 bars required.
� Soft shoe - Reel for boys & Reel and/or Slip Jig for girls 32 bars is adequate.
� A short a cappella piece and/or a Treble Reel - Two steps,right and left.
� If applicable, please include a clip of your professional Irish dance show performances.
� We must be able to see the full body of the dancers in the recording at all times.
� DVD�s and photos will not be returned.

I am looking at joining an Irish dancing school in Hamilton and am thinking about joining the Mary Ellen Walsh school as I have seen a lot of their advertising. Before I do, I wanted to check something and this seems like a good place to ask. They told me that they are qualified to teach but they aren't members of any association because this just costs money and has nothing to do with being a proper teacher. Is there any truth to this? I have just emailed another teacher in Hamilton and an waiting to hear. What's the difference between them and the schools in Waikato that are listed on irishdance.co.nz ? An un biased opinion would be good.

- Mary Ellen qualified officially with CLRG as a TCRG but yes the yearly registration is expensive. The difference is that you wouldn't be able to compete in competitions including the NZ champs unless you are with a registered teacher. (NT) -- Hope this helps?, 12:50:03 06/19/14 Thu

After the success of the first two Intercollegiate Irish Dance Competitions at Villanova and the University of Dayton this year, it is the goal to expand and further support this movement in the years to come. We're currently trying to assemble a central directory of active Irish dance clubs at Universities around the world to make dissemination of information, collaboration and communication easier among the groups.
I'm asking for a representative from each active Irish dance club to send the following information to the e-mail address attached:

Location of school

If the leadership is not yet established for next year for your club, just send the other information, and I'll follow up later once that's been decided.

A huge to congratulations to all the dancers at the Australian International Oiraechtas. It was great to see the lovely dancing from here. All dancers were great and lovely to see the comraderie. Heres hoping more will go next year, one of best comps I have been to this side of the World, very reminisent of the Winter Solstice but without the shopping.     - That's not how I read it? It is more common now that dancers are getting overseas tuition whether it be from workshops organised here or dancers going overseas themselves. I'm sure Harry & Charlotte did it with the blessing of their schools because they all believed it to be beneficial for them. I am an adult dancer just starting out . I have been going to classes for about 6 months and last week my teacher sent me a link to the episode of Jigs & Wigs about adult dancers in Europe.
It has really inspired me. I asked me teacher last night if I could compete but she informed me there is no adult section and said I can still take my exams later in the year.
One of the teenage dancers asked why I don't just go into the over 18 open section and my teacher said that it wouldn't be appropriate due to te fact I'm quote a bit older and not yet at open level.
I wondered if there were any other adult dancers out there or what peoples' opinions were on adults joining in at normal competitions like Cathy off Jihs & Wigs.
Thoughts?

- We have an adult class and they are in the same position as you. There is definielty scope for an adult section at Auckland comps but we found our adults didn't like competing against themselves only.
