- Overall placings are calculated on the raw scores of the judge over 3 dances, not converted to the point system and bear in mind not all dancers in all sections did all 3 dances. (NT) -- ***, 13:20:57 05/11/09 Mon
  - I think it is weird also - would have thought 3 overall placings would have a higher final placing than one dancer placing only once. A similar situation in the 9-11open - one dancer placed 3rd and 4th but no overall placing and one dancer placed 6th and 3rd and got an overall placing of 3rd.     - Like the previous poster said it is done on Raw Scores. The difference between the 3rd & 6th may have been 1 1/2 points whereas the difference between the 4th & 3rd could have been 5? This is not uncommon & I am sure the results were tabulated correctly. (NT) -- :), 16:15:57 05/11/09 Mon

Help! -- Confused about getting my new solo dress ....., 23:10:18 04/06/09 Mon [15]
I am getting my first new solo dress, i have only had second hand ones before, and I am finally getting my first brand new one.

I am confused about skirt lengths, I want to have a short skirt on it, but I have been told that I am not allowed it more than 10cms or 4 inches above my knee as apparently that is the dancing commission rule, but looking at those photos, some look about 10 cms above the knee but some look ALOT shorter.

I also heard that they are going to start "cracking down" on skirts that are too short and I am really confused. My teacher says she wants me to stick to the legal limit, but I don't want to be disadvantaged compared to the others in my age group who have short skirts.

What do I do???

- Why not try a very dropped waist? It would give the illusion of a short skirt, but you would still be able to stick to Commission rules. - I don't imagine they would be, after all I think you have to have only just qualified for this worlds at the AIs to be able to do the late entry. But it's a long way, lot of money and probably a fair bit of school/work to miss to go to another major.
