Their daughter is 4 years old. Since I posted this, Javier told us that they found out she has cancer and that she was supposed to start chemo this past Saturday. I don't understand why this or any other disease has to strike kids. It's so hard to swallow. I will update you as I know more. In the meantime, everyone say a prayer for them.

Celeste , I know you have a million things to do but can you please find out where we can send this little girl something ??? She has been on my mind all day !! I agree ... I don't understand why this has to happen to this sweet little girl . I can't relate to any of my kids having this horrible disease but my sister sure can . Alicia's daughter ( Amanda ) had cancer when she was 5 years old and had surgery and did the chemo thing as well . I am proud to say that she is now 16 years old and sporting around in a 1967 camaro !!! Gee .... wonder where she gets that from ??? LOL !!! That just goes to show that these kids are alot stronger than you think ! Hopefully this little story is helpfull to this family during this very trying time .

Well Grant why do you think that just because I was speaking my mind - why is that TRASHING Hot Rod & why does that suppose to mean that I don't like Hot Rod?? I'm just speaking my mind -- just like you do so often on here and everywhere else. When you were on the North Texas board & this board talking crap about Edwards & his car does that mean that you dislike him? I don't know & don't care if you like him or not, point is you were speaking your mind. I've been told by a track manager that he tried calling Hot Rod all week before his weekend show with no response and as far as this message board the last post Hot Rod made was on 8/24 & since then TBH has been answering all questions. Now as far as who I am, come on over to the Baldobino trailer Friday night and I'll be more that glad to meet you.

As part of the Southern Outlaw ProMod Association I will say this. We havent had the chance to come run with TOPMA, not that we dont want to but it just hasnt played out right for us to make the haul out there. I have on more than one occasion spoke with HotRod and I have browsed this board for quite some time now trying to keep up with whats going on with your group of racers. HotRod isnt here for Money he isnt here to be a "Big Shot" he is here to make a great place for Outlaw ProMods to come race. Anytime I need info from him I get it! May I remind all of you what kind of Leader you used to have? Sealy's Payout -- Mrs. TBH, 21:37:12 10/16/01 Tue
Sealy set this payout 3 years ago when they had their first show. It meets the minimum total payout for a two day show but we have heard that there are several people that are not coming because of the low payout down bottom.
The only bad thing about the payout down bottom is if you are from out of town and happen to go out first or second round, with hotel and travel expenses, you are in the red.

Mrs. TBH thats the reason we arent making the trip 8 or 9 hours is way far to run for that kind of money down on the low side of the ladder. Not to insult the folks at Sealy but we just cant make the trip for that, and god forbid we have problems in RD1 we go home with basically nothing. This so called street car motor was a 655 (not 565, maybe you transposed the numbers or your simply lying as usual). It also had a fogger system and a plate system (not just a plate). Who can prove he wasn't running two systems (No one can or does believe you). It also had a Lenco (not a powerglide).
Great job John Conley considering the combination your working with. Congratulations.
As for Pat Edwards, with the combination he was running, he should have been well into the 4.30's.
Hell Pat, someone has to try to keep you honest (although it appears to be impossible)!

BURN DOWN -- RACER, 20:48:33 10/09/01 Tue
I didnt see it that way . I see a car staging very slow
because the lights were very close . he was moving into
the lights when the starter had his starter box jurked out
of his hand . in my book this was uncalled for. both cars
were blowen cars . both started at the same time . so the
other car was just as hot . thier no reason to act that way. and where do you get 8 sec and your red . show this to me? I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THIS RULE!

RACER -- FAN, 19:21:29 10/12/01 Fri
I think Racer needs to stop and think about what he's saying. If you are in a car ready to race you expect to race not play little kiddy games. If a person won't get in the beams the other driver should get the win. You do have a time limit to get in the beams and if you don't you get the red light. It's just the way it goes. I was there, the other car didn't even attempt to stage it. If you don't have the guts to get up there, stage your car and run it down the track without trying to screw over the other driver then you should stay in the pits.

Clarification -- Grant, 07:34:02 10/11/01 Thu
Hey H.T.,
I am looking for some gear sets but they need to be coarse spline. Several different combinations will work for me.
I am looking for 1.41 or 1.38 and 1.28 or 1.25
From what you wrote it looks like you have a 2.72 low gear It is calculated by multiplying each gear set together.
If you have a 1.44, 1.44 and 1.31 you would have the following low gear: 1.44 X 1.44 X 1.31 = 2.72.
If I can't find the gear sets I need I will be buying another lenco ans selling the one I have currently. It sounds like you need the Lenco that I have. It is a 2.47 low gear with 1.44, 1.31 and 1.31 gear sets. I will let you know if I plan on selling it.

Directions -- Mrs. TBH, 09:53:13 10/05/01 Fri
I-20 West to exit 287. Turn left and down about a 1/4 mile and you'll see the airport off to the left. Turn left under the bridge and then an immediate right into the airfield. There should be someone there instructing you where to go. I think there is a website mentioned in the posts below with more accurate directions too.

Kennedale Race -- Mrs. TBH, 09:34:32 10/02/01 Tue
Yes, John you heard (or read) correctly. Kennedale is qualifying 16 cars. Payout is as follows: $500 Qualify, $750 Quarters, $1,000 Semi, $2,000 Runner-Up and $5,000 Win. This should equal out to a $16,000 total purse. The air ought to be good and the bump ought to be fast...... You must be here Friday night to qualify. No qualifying on Saturday, only eliminations which start promptly at 6:30 PM. There is also a TOPMA 8 car race scheduled in Abilene this weekend too. Qualifying at 12:00 and 2:00 on Saturday (this gives you time to get back to Kennedale if you are qualified there) and eliminations on Sunday.

Get your info straight. on Abilene race -- Tom Dupree, 17:48:06 09/30/01 Sun
Mr. Racer (since you did not give your name):
you have been misinformed. Let me set the the record straight. On my flyer, it does say that there is a $75 entry fee, but that is to keep the wanna-be's out. As you know, there are always some people that show up to a promod race and enter just to get in free.
I do not charge topma members or any other serious promods an entry fee for this race. I am sorry that you did not get the info on this sooner and I hope that you will reconsider being a part of our show. (By the way, 100% of our proceeds go to several different charities. I'm sure that Kennedale's do not.) If you have any other questions, you can contact me at my email address sg4081@cs.com.

Crew members -- Tom Dupree, 15:06:02 10/01/01 Mon
O.K guys, let me make this crystal clear. My show is run just like any other topma show that you go to. I don't charge the crew members or the racers a thing for being part of our show. I am sorry that you did not get all your info the first time that I posted on this site months ago, but I hope that we have everything straight now. If you are still worried about making the trip, just talk to Gaylen Smith, Matt Jones, Scott Hertzog, Bobby Booth, or any of the other guys that attended our show last year. I guarantee that you will not find a race that caters to the racer more than ours. Once again I hope that this answers all your questions.
Thank you Tom Dupree

I COULD HAVE SWORN THAT BALDIBINO RAN A 4.31 IN QUALIFYING, DID THIS PASS NOT COUNT FOR SOME REASON?
[ Edit | View ]
[> [>
Baldibino -- Mrs. TBH, 14:57:15 10/01/01 Mon
We were told by the track officials that he left before the tree was activated, but his rear tires caught the beam just as the tree was activated (he didn't even register a reaction time) and that is how he received the 4.31. This time didn't count. I also heard that he didn't do very well on the second pass so therefore, he was not in the show. He did however make a check out pass right before 1st round and he ran a 4.67.

TEXAS BOYS - Patterson Racing -- Magic Crew, 21:51:30 09/03/01 Mon
Gotta say "GOOD JOB" to Thomas, Richard, Brandon and crew. They were at Indy gettinit on with the heavy hitters in the Pro Mod world! After reportedly (I heard this-not fact) hurting a motor in early qualifying rounds they went from not qualified, backs against the wall, to the #2 qualifier with a 6.21. Fred Hahn set a new record @ 6.17?? 227 MPH ?? (double check me on the numbers!) In first round of elims, SummitRacing.com reported that Patterson's car spun out of the gates. He ran a better ET, but the holeshot put them out. All I can say is - AT LEAST YA'LL WERE THERE, we had to just keep dreaming about it and watching the tube! Great job, your Texas buddies are always rooting you on (so long as your out on the NHRA/IHRA trail - LOL!)

This was a great race. Obviously no one had anything for Scruggs in the small block 63 vette, setting new track record in qualifying and running 3 back to back 4.08s in elims. The finals came down to him and the stroudracing 53 studebaker. Obviously the airgap on clutch was a little to tight and the stude rolled thru the lights.

I normally do not talk like that, that is why I used cartoon language and not the real words.I apologize for my rash statement. But on the other hand it galls me to hear anyone complain about a lousy $15 to see a PRO MOD whether powerglide or lenco.I have appox 300,000.00 invested in my "powerglide" so I take offense to a supposed fan bitchin about "powerglide" cars.Between the rig and the race car and crew it takes alot of money to run these cars regardless of tranny. So the "fan" should be thankful that a racer is willing to come to there local track and run there $300,000.00 investment for the "fans" entertainment.Because there is virutally no return on investment except good fun and friends. So do the right thing "fan" apoligize and enjoy the show no matter what the tranny!!
