They did not think her health was up to it or that she would say yes. She was recovering from her stroke. As it turns out, she would have said yes. I am glad it went the way it did. I love Michael Learned in the role. Patricia Neal was harsher in the role. Can't imagine anyone but ML-she was the perfect Livy to me.
