The characters for the series were well suited for the roles. I enjoyed the movie and the series. But I don't compare them.

However, that takes nothing away from the brillant acting Patricia Neal gave to us in all of her work. For her role as Olivia, she nailed it as an Appalachian woman-superbly so! I know more women who are exactly like her character of Olivia, as opposed to the one of Michael's. (alothough I love Michael's performances too) Patricia Neal is a survivor and I admire her greatly!
