Subject: Trying to watch the Waltons again

Hi Everyone,

I have been away from the forum for a while. I have managed to watch all the seasons up through season 5. I'm amazed that seasons 6 & 7 came out so soon. I've kind of lost track since my mom passed away this last December 4. Here's my connundrum...I'm not sure I am ever going to be able to watch the series again. We watched the Waltons as a family when the show started in 1972 and Olivia Walton reminds me so much of my mom, just the lady she was. As much as I love the show, it's just too hard to watch it as a single (divorced) adult with no children of my own now because it brings back memories of my mom and all her brothers and sisters who have passed away within the last five years and the wonderful family times we had together growing up in the 60's and 70's.

I probably could watch the specials if Warner ever puts them on DVD...I lost track of the show during my college years and after I got out and the specials seem to be about happy times.

Season 7 with Grandpa passing away and Olivia leaving because of TB...I'm not sure I could watch that.
