My Grandparents lived in West Virginia about that time and
they both had interesting ways of putting things; Grandma used to say "I'm full as a tick" when she was finished eating. or " so and so was swoll up like a poison pup" when talking about someone being proud. Grandpa used to say "so and so was born ugly and had a handfull thrown in his face"
when talking about a friend of his. He'd say we lived so far out in the country, the sun set betwixt our place and town. These are just a few I remember. John V.
