These are really funny sayings. My mother and daddy had a few sayings that they used all the time. Whenever someone sneezed mother would say Scat! Scat! after each sneeze. I don't know why. If we forgot to close the door when going in or out of the house, she would say "Shut the door, Richard!" (none of us was named Richard!) If she wanted someone to hurry up, for example, when you're driving and you're getting on a freeway, she would say "Take off like a ruptured duck!" I thought this was pretty funny because I don't think a 'ruptured duck' would be able to take off at all!

My daddy just had one saying, but it's my favorite. He would tuck me in at night and tell me "I love you ever my life to pieces!" and I would repeat it back to him. I don't know the origin of the phrase, but I know it means you love somebody a whole lot! I put it on Daddy's tombstone.
