My husband and I are coming up on 25 years. My parents have been married for 59 years and counting. My in-laws have been married for 57 years! WOW! In our family, I think that the idea of marriage as a lasting and sacred commitment was just a part of life. The idea of divorce, while common to much of society, just wasn't something we considered. BUT, as Barb said....it sure does help to marry the right person! My husband and I are friends too. We laugh a lot together, are silly, enjoy similar interests and like to do things together. We also have a common goal of continuing to raise our children (college aged). I think we have our priorities straight. Faith, our marriage, our children, working hard, and laughing a lot.
