My parents divorced in 1966 when I was 11. I had never even heard of divorce. My mother went on to marry three more times and my daddy married once more. It was devastating to me and my sisters and brother. The only positive thing that came from it was my determination to never let it happen to me. My sisters and my mother jumped into marriage too fast and too often and I watched and learned. I decided I would take my time when I met the man of my dreams and I would know him for at least a year before I married him (we didn't live together before marriage either). It was worth the wait and like you Karen I'm the only of 4 children who has never been divorced.
