The Waltons lived on a FARM. They were able to grow their
own things and raise chickens and other animals which provided their food. This would mean they would always
have extra stuff around. They always had enough there to
get along. They did not have excess wants. They had what they needed. That is why they always had stuff around with
11 people living there---enough to supply eleven people. Remember the Ding Darling cartoons which showed that the
Indians always had what they wanted because they only
thought of what they needed
