I agree with this too. I can think of 3 episodes right off the top of my head that had heavy 70's influence and one of them was in the 1st season and it's one of my least favorites, The Minstrel.

The other two were especially influenced by other shows that were on in the 70's. The Family Tree in the 6th season influenced by the success of Roots. I do like that episode though.

The Tempest where Curt comes back to life. It happened on soap operas all the time in the 70s and I remember that one season of 'Dallas' was so bad and unpopular it was all chalked up to a 'dream' of Bobby Ewing's! I prefer to think of The Tempest as just a bad dream.
