The Empty Nest is a favorite. This is when the family mourn Grandpa's loss and John must decide whether to stay on Walton's Mountain or accept a lucrative position in Richmond. Also,Mary Ellen and Erin move into an apartment in Charlottesville, then realize they were happier on Walton's Mountain. Mary Ellen's pill addiction is also a good episode. When Grandma is reunited with her old beau Marcus Dane,I like that episode as well. Day of Infamy is defintely a favorite as the Walton family and the nation deal with the attack on Pearl Harbor. It's even more difficult for Mary Ellen when Curt is killed in the attack. Founder's Day is an excellent episode also as it is settled once and for all that the Waltons were the first family to settle on the mountain and Jason put his family to music as John-Boy had done to the spoken word.
