Keira was too sweet and too good of a dragonrider to be given up to Mortelia or The Sect. The magic was thin in her blood, and it was almost painful to bring enough together to be useful. The black threads of power quivered in her trembling hands. She threw back her hand then tossed the magic at the cloaked woman, praying to Mya Mara that the damned creature would be distracted. Aiyana reached Mortelia and Keira, startled to see the woman talking to Keira, she swung the blade fiercely at the woman just before Tilana let out her magic on the figure.
