she was gone. Hopefully she just needed some rest.

Now, the Hendrick thing.... Chad Knaus said recently that the 48 and 24 teams, which share the same building, share all information. They even communicate with the crew chiefs of the 5 and 25 throughout the race in case those teams hit on something that could help. They said information sharing is 100%. But, after the race last weekend, Jeff Gordon was interviewed on pit road and he said, "The 48 guys know something the rest of us don't."

so, if what Gordon says is true, then what Knaus said is untrue. And we know Knaus cheats so lying isn't too far fetched now, is it?

My hope is for the lesser of two evils. I'd like for the 48 car to wreck very early so even if he gets back out he finishes no better than 39th to 43rd. And I hope Gordon wins or at least finishes in the top two or three.

Its not really Johnson I can't stand. Its that smug know it all bastard on his pit box that I hate... although I think Hendrick could put a monkey in the 48 car and Knaus could make him a champion... well maybe not a monkey... but a chimp probably could.

Will jeffy g. come from behind and snatch away that title? ONLY if HE hires Loren Wallace to, "put jimmy into the wall"

Will Jr get his final win for TEI? Not if mommie dearest has anything to say about it...stay tuned...

NASCAR considering separate qualifying sessions in 2008: Nextel Cup Series Director John Darby said Nov. 9 that the sanctioning body is still studying the possibility of having teams outside the top 35 in owner points qualify as a group, but that a final decision has not been made. Teams outside the top 35 must qualify each week based on their qualifying speed, while teams inside the top 35 are locked into the field. Because qualifying sessions often last more than two hours, track conditions can change dramatically during a single session. Some team owners have said that having drivers not guaranteed a starting spot make their qualifying attempts at about the same time - rather than based on their qualifying draw - would make the session more fair. "Right now, it's something that we've looked at and continue to look at," Darby said. "But any time you make a change, you have to look at how it affects everything. It's not as simple as just saying, 'Yeah, that would be better. It may make sense for one group, but it might not for another. You've got to take into consideration when you would have those teams make their qualifying attempts - are they the first ones on the track, or the last? There are a lot of things that would be affected by a move like that." Owner points for the first five races of each season are based on the final owner points of the previous year, meaning those teams are guaranteed starting spots for the first five races. Beginning with the sixth race, the current owner points are used.(SceneDaily.com)(11-15-2007)

Take this rule and shove it, Kyle Busch says at short track, I ain't racin' here no more
By JIM UTTER - The Charlotte Observer
AVONDALE, Ariz. - Nextel Cup driver Kyle Busch took an unexpected early exit from a planned Super Late Model feature race late Saturday night at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Busch, who had to start from the rear of the field, had moved into a battle for second place with driver Shelby Thompson on Lap 96 of 150 when Thompson wrecked Busch.

Track spokesman Jeff Motley said track rules require all cars involved in a caution to restart at the rear of the field, but both drivers refused. Track officials halted the race and issued an ultimatum to both drivers - they could move to the rear of the field or leave the track.

Thompson elected to move to the rear of the field, while Busch drove to the pits and quit the race. Busch soon took a helicopter ride to the Las Vegas airport and returned to Phoenix for Sunday's Cup race.

Busch ended up credited with a 19th-place finish, while Taylor Barton won the race and Thompson finished 17th. The 22-year-old Las Vegas native has already won Craftsman Truck and Busch series races at Phoenix this weekend.

Mom and I drove 3 hours to New Brunswick to visit some family. They were calling for good weather. We had a nice unch with them and then left for hom at 3pm. an hour into the drive home it started to snow. not too bad but you adjust your driving. I come from Ontario and I am very used to bad weather. I got off the highway to get a cup of tea and as we were getting back on a Mountie went by with the lights on. about 20 minutes later we found out where he was going... a 20 to 30 car pile up. We sat there for a good hour and then we were allowed to move to an exit ramp onto a detour. I have never been on this tw lane road in my life. ten minutes later the sky fell... I have never seen a snow storm like that one. never. I come from Ontario. I have lived in Sault Ste. Marie. I have never been through anything like it. We were doing maybe 10 kilometers an hour. If I was a cop I'd have given everyone speeding tickets. A tractor trailer got stuck on the road and we had to go around him. I passed on the outside but cars were passing on the inside too. Incredibly dangerous. no houses. just a steep bank on both sides and forest... miles of forest. I called 911 and told them about the truck stuck and that there was going to be an accident but I couldn't even tell the operator where it was because all of the signs were covered with snow. a pickup pulling a camper pulled out and passed me. by the time the trailer was at my side window, the truck was out of sight because of the snow. I screamed Holy shit! the operator asked what was wrong... it was a cop I was talking too. I said, "Stay on the phone because in about 2 minutes I'll be reporting an accident." That camper went around a bend in the road and disappeared. I am going to say this: it took more than 2 hours to get back onto the highway. If at 9pm you asked me if I thought Mom and I would still be alive at 10pm I'd have said no. I hnestly do not know how I drove through it.

I have never in my life been as scared as I was tonight because there was absolutely no possibility of pulling off the road and with God as my witness, you could not see25 feet in front of the car. I will tell you something else... it was as scare as I ever want to be and I will never talk about tonight again.

I am going to build mom a new garden swing with a trellis over it and I want the grapes to grow over the trellis. Tomorrow I think I will plant tulips and crocuses. I think my gardens are going to loook awesome by July.
I might turn into a gardener in my old age. Actually my goal is to not have to cut grass. This little project gets rid of one entire lawn. Of course its the smaller of three lawns but if it works, I'll move on to the others... maybe plant a vineyard on the big 1 acre lawn.

Fambrough learned Monday morning that he will be the front tire changer for Denny Hamlin's #11 FedEx car for the last two cup races in Phoenix and Homestead. KLTV 7 Sports [Texas] caught up with C.J. Monday afternoon by phone. "It is really neat," he said. "It's a great opportunity and I'm fortunate to have it. I'm excited I'm a little bit nervous but I know what to expect and I know what I've got to do." C.J. says there will be a few differences between pitting on the Busch series and for the Nextel Cup. "Timing," he said, "and I will be working with a whole new crew I've never worked with and there's a lot more pit stops. In a Busch race you get three to four pit stops at the most. In Phoenix, at the Cup race, we could possibly do nine, ten, eleven pit stops just depends on cautions and how everything is going."(KLTV site), Cory Quick had been Hamlin's front tire changer, no word on where he ends up

I see I didn't miss much at Texas though....

I san make it exciting....

Mile 100 25 bonus points to the leader
Mile 200 50 bonus points to the leader
Mile 300 75 bonus points to the leader
Mile 400 100 bonus points to the leader

The boring parts of the race will become much more exciting and we won't see drivers go to the back at Talladega and Daytona. Bet it wouldn't even take that many points to make em start working harder.

Take it a step further.... when drivers pick their qualifying order, say the driver who picks qualifying position number 10 (change each week) gets to pick an envelope from another box. This envelope remains sealed and guarded by... lets say the track owner... Inside the envelope is a number. After the race is over, the envelope is opened and a number evealed. Lets say it says 212.

Whomever was leading at lap 212 recieves 100 bonus points in addition to all the others. What that does is stop drivers from sandbagging and also will discourage teams from allowing friends to lead a lap. Could be an expensive lap.

I was visiting with the president of our agility group. she breeds champion german shepherds. There was an extra dogthere and I asked who she was. Turns out she's from the last litter they produced. for some reason the guy that got her could not keep her so Yan took her back. I asked what she was going to do with the dog and Yan said, "I don't know. I might keep her or sell her or give her away." Very nice dog.About a year old. Yan calls her Miss B, which is short for misbehavin'.

So three days ago there was a house fire here in Brookfield. The best friend of my cousin's kid. They lost everything in the fire including the kid's dog. So I sent Yan an email... told her about the fire and I said, "You are always looking for ways to publicize your business... well here's a million dollars worth of publicity that won't cost you a penny.... there's this kid whose dog burned up in a fire... and there's Miss B just sitting there looking for something to do....

Yan jumped at it. I spoke to the kid's father last night and he's all for it. Yan wants to meet the father without the kid first to get a read on them. she doesn't want to have t take the dog back again so if she feels good about it, we're going to do it. Yan said she'd throw in an obedience course and my veterinarian said she'd donate a free check up and some other stuff.

Now I just hope Yan feels good about this guy.

brought a guy home from work today to show off his rec room.... he was showing him his wall of photos and said, "What the..." and took the photo off the wall. His friend started laughing and when Kary explained that I don't hunt, it was even funnier. Anyway... kary and his wife brought the kids by for trick or treat tonight and Kary said the photo is staying on the wall...
I'm glad he wasn't alone when he found it.

He said, "In Nova Scotia we hunt, Rick, but we try not to kill celebrities."

The rifle was actually donated to me when I decorated my western bedroom. In fact it was donated by the same guy who will have a new photo on his rec room wall tomorrow.

One wall is lined with photos of himself and friends with animals they've killed. One day he said, "I know you killed stuff." I said I didn't. He said, "I know you did when you were a kid because I was with you. Someplace there has to be pictures and when I find one, I'm putting it up on this wall."

This morning I went outside and shot me an animal. I am going to frame this photo and put it on his wall without telling him.

UPDATE: Water found in the fuel tanks of cars driven by #11-Denny Hamlin and #22-Dave Blaney during Sunday's Nextel Cup race at Atlanta was not isolated to those teams, a NASCAR official said Monday. Water also was discovered in the fuel of the Penske Racing cars driven by #2-Kurt Busch and #12-Ryan Newman after returning to Charlotte, N.C. In addition, water was found in the fuel cell of all three Richard Childress racing team cars belonging to #29-Kevin Harvick, #07-Clint Bowyer and #31-Jeff Burton. #16-Greg Biffle believes his car may have had water in its fuel, although no evidence was found. NASCAR Nextel Cup Series director John Darby said the problem is more widespread than originally thought and that NASCAR has issued bulletins to all Cup and Truck Series teams to check for evidence of contamination so they can locate the source. Darby said everything from the underground fuel-holding tank at the track to the fuel trucks that deliver the gas to the individual gas cans are being analyzed. He said the underground tank is the least likely source because there is an alarm system located that can detect the slightest amount of contamination. Darby dismissed sabotage as a possible explanation, saying too many teams were affected for anyone to have been singled out.(

This sounds fishy to me.... think about it

Sunoco tested the fuel in their tanks and it tested good. NASCAR always takes random samples after every race and they all tested good. Only two cars tested positive for water:

#22 which was shit all weekend and needed an excuse

#11 whose driver totally f%$#ed up the last restart and needed someone to blame.

unless someone intentionally put water in a fuel can, it is impossible for this to happen to only two teams. Who would do that? My God, if you're gonna do it, do it to Gordon and Johnson for God's sake. why do it to Hamlin and Blaney????? its a joke. Hamlin needed someone or something to blame and it seemed like a good idea to Blaney.

What Starts With F and Ends With K

A first-grade teacher, Ms. Brooks, was having trouble with one of her students. The teacher asked, "Harry, what's your problem?"

Harry answered, "I'm too smart for the 1st grade. My sister is in the 3rd grade and I'm smarter than she is! I think I should be in the 3rd grade too!"

Ms. Brooks had had enough. She took Harry to the principal's office.

While Harry waited in the outer office, the teacher explained to the principal what the situation was. The principal told Ms. Brooks he would give the boy a test. If he failed to answer any of his questions he was to go back to the 1st grade and behave. She agreed.

Harry was brought in and the conditions were explained to him and he agreed to take the test.

Principal: "What is 3 x 3?"

Harry: "9."

Principal: " What is 6 x 6?"

Harry: "36."

And so it went with every question the principal thought a 3rd grader should know.

The principal looks at Ms. Brooks and tells her, "I think Harry can go to the 3rd grade."

Ms. Brooks says to the principal, "Let me ask him some questions."

The principal and Harry both agreed.

Ms. Brooks asks, "What does a cow have four of that I have only two of?"

Harry, after a moment: "Legs."

Ms. Brooks: "What is in your pants that you have but I do not have?"

The principal wondered why would she ask such a question!

Harry replied: "Pockets."

Ms. Brooks: "What does a dog do that a man steps in to?"

Harry: "Pants."

Ms. Brooks: What starts with a C, ends with a T, is hairy, oval, delicious and contains thin, whitish liquid?"

Harry: "Coconut."

The principal sat forward with his mouth hanging open.

Ms. Brooks: "What goes in hard and pink then comes out soft and sticky?"

The principal's eyes opened really wide and before he could stop the answer, Harry replied, "Bubble gum."

Ms. Brooks: "What does a man do standing up, a woman does sitting down and a dog does on three legs?"

Harry: "Shake hands."

The principal was trembling.

Ms. Brooks: "What word starts with an 'F' and ends in 'K' that means a lot of heat and e xcitement?"

Harry: "Firetruck."

The principal breathed a sigh of relief and told the teacher, "Put Harry in the fifth-grade, I got the last seven questions wrong......

memo to all teams:

1: starting the first day of Speedweeks, there will be four sets of templates used.
Dodge Avenger
Toyota Camry
Chevrolet Impala
Ford Fusion
The manufacturer will supply each team with a set of CURRENT model year templates. Aside from flaps, wings and front air dams, your cars had better match EXACTLY to their street driven cunterpart. If your car does not fit the template the first time thru inspection, you will be fined $250,000. You will then be permitted to

A: load up and go home
or
B: unload your back up car and take it directly from the trailer to inpsection. If it fails inspection you will be fined $1,000,000 and your team will lose 100 driver and 100 owner points

2: Any tire manufacturer is permitted as long as they are submitted to nascar prior to January 1.

3: If at any point during the season your vehicle does not conform to the rules laid down by NASCAR on January 1, the team will be sent home from that race WITHOUT the car. the vehicle and drive train will not be returned to the team under any circumstances.

4: NASCAR will NOT change or update any rules between January 1 2008 and the final race at Homestead.

5: If any driver/crew chief or owner does any whining, they will be sent out behind the infield care center where Dick Trickle will be waiting. On the Wednesday prior to each race, Mr Trickle will have his cigarettes taken away so your whining may not impress him.

Best of luck in 08

ok, the US Government hired a company to help train Iraqi police. This company started sending bills to the US Government, who promptly paid them. Every time a bill came it, it was paid in a timely manner. Now a government audit has discovered that $1.2 billion has been paid to this company, and nobody can identify what they got for their money. The US INL is trying to find out where the money went and who the f&^% paid those bills withough first finding out if the freaking work was done...

Ok, here's my idea.... I think I am going to make up an invoice.... I'll make it very proffessional and everything, and see if the government pays me. Of course, I won't lie in the invoice... I'll put it in writing that the bills is for services never rendered, and see what happens. If this works, you guys might all get completely out of debt.

An Australian Definition of a Canadian
-Written by an Australian Dentist

Pakistan Newspaper Ad - Reward for killing a Canadian

You probably missed it in the local news, but there was a report that someone in Pakistan had advertised in a newspaper an offer of a reward to anyone who killed a Canadian - any Canadian.

An Australian dentist wrote the following editorial to help define what a Canadian is, so they would know one when they found one.
______________________________

A Canadian can be English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, American, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. A Canadian can be Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, Arab, Pakistani or Afghan.

A Canadian may also be a Cree, Metis, Mohawk, Blackfoot, Sioux, or one of the many other tribes known as native Canadians. A Canadian's religious beliefs range from Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu or none. In fact, there are more Muslims in Canada than in
Afghanistan. The key difference is that in Canada they are free to worship as each of them chooses. Whether they have a religion or no religion, each Canadian ultimately answers only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government
and for God.

A Canadian lives in one of the most prosperous lands in the history of the world. The root of that prosperity can be found in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms which recognize the right of each person to the pursuit of happiness.

A Canadian is generous and Canadians have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return. Canadians welcome the best of everything, the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best services and the best minds. But they also welcome the least -
the oppressed, the outcast and the rejected.
These are the people who built Canada. You can try to kill a Canadian if you must as other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world have tried but in doing so you could just be killing a relative or a neighbor. This is because Canadians are not a particular people from
a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, can be a Canadian.

Subject: Backstretch

Author:
Rick
[ Edit | View ]

Date Posted: Sunday, October 21, 01:38:26pm

Usually a writer can say pretty much whatever he wants and while he might get beat up for his opinions, he almost always gets away with it because like it or not, we’re all entitled to our opinions… even writers. As every one of you know, Backstretch has been pretty vocal about the trend in hiring past champions to use those six provisionals that NASCAR has been so kind to hand out.
It all started when Michael Waltrip gave Dale Jarrett an estimated ten million dollars a year to drive his new Toyota. Everyone, including NASCAR knew what Waltrip was doing: he was buying his way into races because he knew his cars wouldn’t be good enough, but that a past champion had a pretty much unlimited supply of provisionals to use. A light bulb must have flashed on in Daytona Beach because NASCAR saw through that almost immediately and before the 2007 season started, informed all teams that past champions would only have six provisionals to use. As we all know, Jarrett used them up pretty quick.
It wasn’t just Michael Waltrip Racing that was abusing the system, although they were the first. The Wood brothers took Kenny Schrader out of the 21 car in favor of champion Bill Elliott and at the road courses this year Waltrip took himself out of the 55 in favor of Terry Labonte.
I can totally understand why these teams do this. They have sponsors to think about. There were reports, perhaps not totally accurate, that said Waltrip was paying NAPA more than $100,000 for every race the 55 car missed. That’s a heck of an incentive to bring in a hired gun. It’s not right, but there it is.
The past champion’s provisional rule was brought into effect because during the twilight of Richard Petty’s career, he missed a race. NASCAR could not have a legend like Petty being sent home, especially by some upstart kid who never won a race. So they increased the field from the standard 42 cars to include the 43rd position, which was the past champion’s position. NASCAR made one mistake at the time: they said if a champion didn’t need that spot, it would go to the next fastest car. What they should have said was if a champion didn’t need it, then 42 cars would start the race. That’s why the provisional got abused. During the last season of Darrell Waltrip’s career he got sent home once by a driver who had never won a race in his life. That shouldn’t have happened. That provisional is the single most abused rule in NASCAR.
So now I have to put my money where my mouth is because my favorite driver is in danger of falling out of the top 35. Kyle Petty has said that if he does fall out, he will seriously consider putting Bobby Labonte in the 45 car and he’ll drive the 43. I completely understand why he would do this: the rule is there and other teams have used it so he’d be an idiot not too. The 55 car made races because of it, the 21 made races because of it so Petty would be stupid to send the 45 car home just because he’s too big to use it.
Just because he can use it, doesn’t mean its right. Yes, if he falls out of the top 35, I hope he puts Labonte in the car. The Petty’s, like everyone else, have sponsorship commitments that need to be met. I understand and agree with that. But, and this is a pretty big but… I sincerely hope that before the 2008 Daytona 500, NASCAR steps in and puts a stop to this. No one, not the upstart Michael Waltrip Racing and not the legends like the Wood Brothers or Petty Enterprises should be permitted to abuse a rule that was put in place only to make sure a real champion made the race. It’s wrong and it needs to be addressed before the start of next season.

McCumbee Could Attempt Homestead; Will Drive 5 Cup Races Next Year: Petty Enterprises General Manager Jerry Freeze said Chad McCumbee will attempt to qualify a third Petty Enterprises car for the season-ending Nextel Cup Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, or try to qualify for the Busch Series race that weekend. "If this Busch opportunity comes through, we may let him focus on that, along with his Truck Series commitment," Freeze said. "One way or the other, we'll run him at Homestead." McCumbee is likely to stick with Petty Enterprises next season. Freeze said there are plans for Petty to partner with an existing Busch team to have McCumbee drive in 22-24 races. McCumbee is also penciled in to drive Kyle Petty's Nextel Cup car for the five races he'll again skip to jump into the broadcast booth. Plus, there may be opportunities to qualify for a handful of other Cup races in a third Petty car without jeopardizing his rookie status

I don't like it. I think it's wrong and I think the rules should be re-written to put a stop to it. If it means avoiding missing races this year then yeah, I hope Kyle does it. I also hope NASCAR changes that rule so nobody can do it next year.
Like Kyle said, so many teams have done it that he'd be an idiot to fall on the sword and not do it. But its not right that he should be in the position in the first place.

Sheba LOVES agility. she does NOT like retirement. You pick up her orange collar or her silver scarf and she starts getting excited. thats why she stays with the group. and during practice I let her run the hoola hoops occassionally.

I took 2 days off from doing the show in order to take photos. I'll do the same next year.

This would be the club president, her German Shepherd, Legend, and her son Zac. The show starts with Zac, dressed up as the village idiot, running out with the cd of our show music. we used to use the actual cd but Legend destroyed that and left us with no music. we have since learned our lesson.

Who let the dogs out? All of the handlers are at one end of the arena and the dogs pile out of the van and run up to meet them. there is usually a collective gasp from the audience when the van doors are opened. Tony gets out of the way pretty damn fast.

This is Wizard about to kiss somebody. No, he's not mean... he does this every time he tries to kiss someone. they call it a submissive grin but he scares small children.

this is the other end of Wizard at the time...

Sheba's final run ever. We were a dog short so she got called into play. We purposely avoided the A Frame (thats what the goats are on) and one tunnel that went over an A Frame because those are dangerous. Other than that she did the entire course, without having EVER run the course in her life, and she did it with ZERO mistakes, just as I had promised everyone. She will never run another agility course and this is one of three photos taken of her that day so they are keepers.

DEI workers blamed for airborne shot at Bobby Ginn: Three DEI employees who allegedly planned and paid for a derogatory banner to fly over Lowe’s Motor Speedway last weekend have been fired. The banner, which read, “How much does Bobby Ginn owe you?” was pulled by a plane and flown over Lowe’s before the start of last Saturday night’s race. The banner was directed at the former NASCAR team owner, who allowed his organization to be acquired by DEI after just one year of ownership, leaving about 100 people out of a job. But Kasey Brooks, Mike Clark and Greg Price were hired by DEI after the merger, and are believed to be responsible for the banner. Clark and Price were fabricators at DEI, and Brooks worked in the parts department. “We addressed the situation internally, dealt with it appropriately and we’re quite frankly embarrassed that this situation ever arose,” DEI general manager John Story said. There have been grumblings throughout the garage that Ginn owes former employees back salaries, and drivers Sterling Marlin and Joe Nemechek and two crew chiefs have sued him for payment. That lawsuit is in the final stages of being settled, and Ginn sent a Sept. 27 letter to most of his former employees that promised back-owed team bonuses would be paid in full via an Oct. 3 direct deposit.(AP/Thatsracin)(10-20-2007)

Villeneuve buys Bill Davis Racing? Auto123.com's contributor Bertrand Godin has learned earlier today a rumour indicating that Jacques Villeneuve and Craig Pollock have purchased the Bill Davis Racing Team [#22, #27 and #36 in Cup, #5, #22, #23, #27 in Truck]. According to a reliable source, Villeneuve and his business manager since 1992, Craig Pollock, have recently purchased Bill and Gail Davis' stock-car racing team. This is the team that currently runs Villeneuve in the Craftsman Trucks series and in the Nextel Cup. The new team, based in High Point, North Carolina will apparently continue to field the current drivers, as well as a Sprint Cup car for Villeneuve.

Been shipping old cars for a few years, seen some neat trucks. But this Peterbuilt takes the cake. A sleeper compartment that would rival a motel room, kitchen, bath, shower, etc. Must have been 90 feet long total. That's our 65 GTO convertible headed for California.

At a car show last week, they had 3 vintage dragsters on display. At noon, they fired them up, one at a time. Don't know the details on them, but it was LOUD. Here's a couple pics of one of them:

Farmers get tired of farming their land as they grow older so they have little choice but to sell to developers. Here in NJ there are more deer killed by motor vehicle per year then are killed by hunters in two years.

you need to re-watch the JGR press conference. Tony Stewart was not happy. He said he was happy with the switch but his eyes and language said different. And I don't believe he said the word 'Toyota' at all. But he said the words "Chevrolet" "Chevy" and "General Motors" about a hundred times... even going so far as to say his WOO and Sprint cars would remain GM. He will not be in a Toyota too long. Maybe 2 years but I doubt that. I also predict that at least one and maybe 2 or 3 JGR teams will be outside the top 35 by race 6 and some may just miss some races. Idiots.

can have the biggest balls in the world and not be able to make a piece of crap go fast.
When Evernham, Petty and Ganassi went to Dodge, they did so with an eye to the future. They were involved in the Dodge program right from the start. They all knew they were entering with a new manufacturer and they helped do the design work.
When Robby Gordon switched from GM to Ford he did so in an effort to move up the food chain. He was not getting the help from GM that Hendrick and DEI were getting. switching to a smaller established team made sense and he did that TO IMPROVE HIS TEAM.

What JGR is doing is totally different. Toyota is already established in NASCAR and their program is in the toilet. Toyota has failed to make as many races as they've made. Their engines are crap. Look at Vickers.. even when he has great runs, he loses an engine or something.
The point is not that JGR went to Toyota. The point is that they went to a team that is crap and therefore, money had to have been the motivating factor: not the need or desire to improve the team.
Now it gets worse because according to Michael Waltrip, MWR suddenly got better because of information passed to them from JGR. That means one of two things: either JGR is working on the Toyota program even though they are still under contract to General Motors through the last race of the season, or they passed along proprietary GM information. Either way, they are either breaking or circumventing the rules and the basis of their contracts with GM. General Motors said that their contract with JGR stipulates that they cannot even TALK to another manufacturer until after Homestead but obviously they did that.
My anger with JGR does not stem from their decision to go to Toyota. My anger is bases solely on the fact that they are breaking the rules.
I still approve of Toyota being in Cup. What I do not approve of is underhanded dirty business and thats what we have here. And its the second time they've done it. The first was when Bill Davis worked with the Toyota program while still under contract to Dodge.
Maybe this is good. Toyota says they are one big team so now all the assholes will be on one team.

and for the record, Red Bull will be in Chevys by 2009. probably 2008, but 09 for sure.

Teams change manufacturers , to Ford from Chevy in Robby Gordon's case . From Ford to Dodge in Penske's case etc. JGR made a "money" decision and they get tossed under the bus. Was there backlash(in general)when Penske went to Dodget ? I seem to recall Roger Penske being praised for becoming the top or near the top at Dodge. Why is JGR getting slammed for making the same kind of decision? Is it because its Toyota? Toyota or Briggs and Stratton WONT MATTER Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch and even Denny Hamlin all have the balls to make them go fast. JGR now becomes THE top team at Toyota and its performance will be a model for other Toyota teams to emulate. Not saying MWR will improve much but it sure does look like they will as will BDR and even Team Red Bull

there must be something written into the Joe Gibbs contract that forbids him from handing out proprietary information to competitors....

Gibbs to the rescue for MWR: Michael Waltrip said in a TV interview last week that one reason his team has improved in recent weeks is the help it has received from Joe Gibbs Racing. JGR is moving to Toyota next year, but it can't make Chevrolet officials too happy to hear the Gibbs experts already are sharing info with the Toyota camp.(ESPN.com)(10-17-2007)

This is as bad or worse than what Bill Davis did to Dodge because by Waltrip's own words, his three Toyotas actually improved because of the information. You have to assume that

A: Joe Gibbs Racing stole information
B: Waltrip is a complete idiot for admiting it publicly
and
C: General Motors is gonna be pissed when they read jayski this morning.

Do not be surprised if GM pulls its support from JGR for the rest of this season. what a bunch of morons at Gibbs. Switching manufacturers is one thing... giving company secrets away is quite another. I hope they all burn in Hell. So much for Gibbs and his holier than thou attitude.

IF you are shooting with a flash you have to shoot at a 60th of a second otherwise the shutter wont stay open long enough for the flash. You can shoot at a faster speed only when you are using the flash as fill light.

You need to invest in a basic how to book. It will be explained more throughly there than I can here...Does that make sense?...hmmm time to go to bed!

taught that it is the way the light enters and hits the back of the eye. It has to be the subject that controls the eye movement. You just cant do that with animals. If you shoot from a different angle whats to keep the dogs eyes from averting into that line of light.

So many pictures I've seen where the flash was off to the side and because the light bounced just right and boom red eye. I think there are supposed cameras with special red eye reduction but still render red eye.

I think your best bet is photoshop. or software like it. Ive used it successfully, but not as successful as retouching with a brush and dye. Sorry I'm not more help.

I just saw your post. Been busy on another board helping sick kitties. About the "red eye" its a product of the flash and or flash and combination of light that hits the back of the eye. Working with all the variables you have I dont know if you could have avoided it anyway.

I've not had much experience with this except to say that you have to avoid looking directly into the flash and or other lights involved. They may be smart dogs but I dont think you can train them not to look at your camera when the flash goes off. Sometimes they dont even have to be looking at the camera it's just the amount of light...

Maybe David can explain better. It does appear however you have overcome this problem on your own the picture you posted is an excellent shot. Congratulations.

I am using flash with both 35 and digital. So what do I need to do? I need this answer tonight if possible.

Also I am not really happy with sme of the 35. shooting indoors, with moving targets, what should I have the camera set at? I am thinking as low as it will go because its not really bright in there. The photos I've taken so far are dark.

Is a true champion in every sense of the word. Very smart and wanting to give 100%. Especially when working a crowd, you have told us this many times. What an ambassador for her sport! You must be a very proud papa.

Sheba ran really well. as usual, she never missed anything even though she had never run this course in her life. BUT... after the show the club president said, "Sheba cannot run again." I asked why and she said because she looked very stiff and thats how dogs get hurt. The a lady from the group walked up and said, "Sheba looked too stiff out there." The president said, "What would you do if sheba hurt herself?"
"Shoot myself."
"Right. Sheba is very good at what she does. She's good with kids and she does her saddlebag thing that no one else does. Let her do what she's good at." She she ran through the course today and got filmed doing it. No more. we took some photos so hopefully I'll get some posted tonight or tomorrow.

who knows.... it might happen. gotta get Skip ready for this show next year. Thats the main goal.

Hopefully by this time tomorrow you will see photos of Sheba in her first show in over a year. I am quite excited to say the least. We practiced with a couple of tunnels, a couple of jumps and the high walk. It was just me and her. The club president was the only person watching and she was laughing most of the time because sheba was so excited she was shaking all over.
I have a drawing of the course and I am trying to figure out a way for her to do the entire course but miss the two A frames. I can get her to miss one easily but the second will be tougher. I know she could do the A frame but if she is going to get hurt, that's where it would be so I'd rather not put her in that position if I can figure out a way. I could miss it easily if we skip the high walk but she likes doing that so I am trying t leave it in her program. we'll see.

I think thats a cute name! I KNOW they can be house trained. BUT I dont think you'll be able to find a big enough doggie door...They make em tall enough but wide enough? Course you ARE the king of custom...:D
