" How many came back with you Quistlas? You were gone for a short amount of time. " she asked playfully as the three of them ate a small dinner that had been waiting for him upon his return. Kami could not deny that part of his hasty return was smelling this wonderful feast set out for him.
He smiled, slicing off a shard of some kind of fowl with garlic and other spicies seemingly smothering it. Following it down with a mouthful of wine, his smile grew wider as he held up the glass, as if in toast.
" All of them. A few volunteers are making make shift homes for them now. Also there is an empty wing in the castle, so I'm giving the rooms in it over to a few of the eldery ones as well so my servants can care for them. " He said between bites, as he looked to the only one not eating and frowned.
Yukina just laughed somewhat as she ate another bite, her wings twitching somewhat.
" Do not mind him. He is always like this infront of those he does not know well my love. " Tossing another playful laugh his way, Kami kept his straight face, his silver eyes regarded the silent figure carefully, cautiously.
He sighed, running his hands together over a napkin as he slowly stood up, he hadn't stopped moving it seemed. With this new drama going on, he had so many demands.
And the grin on his lips was the taletell..he was back into his niche.
And was loving it.
" I need to talk with some of the refugees about what, if anything, happened to trigger this event. " As he buckled on his belt, using only his casual clothing that he wears around Dan'Shir. There was hardly any reason to impress people here when they were all, simply a family.
" ......You could ask Emillia yourself, you know. " Yukina said softly, his deep blue eyes watching his every movement as his silver gaze returned hers, both somewhat uneasy at that potential meeting.
" I would never make it past Hogoromo's gates. I am.." He began.
" Just an elf? Truly? I've known you for thousands of years Kami. No gate, no wall, nothing has ever stopped you, not even death. And..she is your daughter with that..." She frowned, obvious distaste in her tone.
Kami only looked on, his face a mask of indifference.
" I'm too busy. " He said flatly, even as he walked out of the dining hall, his silver hair held tight in a pony tail as he left the castle, leaving the two alone.
" He is lying, mother. "
" I know dear. Kami has said many things in his life, but only means a few. He will attempt to save his daughter, and for that I am grateful. If he didn't...then he isn't the man I fell in love with. " She began, chiding the child briefly even as she continued to finish her plate, as the boy too began to eat.
" I...do not like him...I miss father. "

Kami sighed as he helped the refugees, his mind elsewhere.
How do I reach you Emillia? What can reach you besides that boy?
He sighed again inwardly.
I'm such a horrible father.
