There are many who are disgusted by the cruelty of people with religious belief and determined not to fall for the same trap. It is not hard to find murders committed by religious 'leaders', yet the same couldn't be said about atheists. Atheists, as a rule, would only find people who still hold religious beliefs as 'irrational', yet they wouldn't torture or kill based on their atheist belief. I agreed that there are a lot of things that Protestants have to think about, especially when they have a large population of Fundamentalists who are not judgmental, hatred filled, and ant-everyone else. From observation, I would have no problem having civil discussion with atheists, but the same couldn't be said about Fundamentalists. I think you have confused atheists with communists. And the form of communists that you are objected to, are closer to dictators than atheists. From my understanding, there are many atheists who are also humanists. Feel free to talk about this.
