Speaking of Tompkins Cove, who here is old enough to remember, in the post World War 2 days, that the cove was filled with the hulks of discarded Liberty Ships for many years? Eventually they were carted off for scrap.
Only fishing I ever did as a Newburgh lad was at Winona Lake, at about the time that the part of it on the left side of the South Plank Road going towards Algonquin Park was reverting to nothing more than wet marshland.
