My Sarah is 18, and she is doing the exact same things as Ali. She is lazy, doesn't help around the house, nor does she take care of her pets. She doesn't have a job, she got fired from the last two she had. She flunked out of 2 classes in college last semester.....so we had to repay back a scholarship she got from Mike's union hall.

She just got a ticket for going 90 in a 70 zone. She has a boyfriend that is 31 (yes, she is 18). She comes and goes as she pleases, even after we told her that the money will be cut off if she doesn't pull it together. She wanted to go live with Steve.....but Steve said he couldn't support her. So I never know when she is coming home, or what this guy is really like. My first impression is he is an angry ticking time bomb.

We got through the anorexia, the cutting and the depression. She sees my doctor and is doing well mentally.
She doesn't get how the world works....I gave her one more semester at a very expensive college......blow it, and it's over. She will have to find a job that she can support herself on, or pay to go to the community college if she can't hack UM.

I'm frustrated as hell at her, and I don't need her aggravation. I keep telling myself that she will eventually get it together.....but it can't come fast enough. She was given everything growing up, and was a good kid. Now all of a sudden I'm 18, and she think she owns the world.

So I totally understand what you are going through. Maybe it is just the age...I just remember at 19 I was married, had my associates degree and had a job, and was in the process of buying a house. But I guess that was a different generation.
