I think you should work very hard with your new therapist to recognize the good in your life and the control you do have to change what isn't good. If your marriage sucks, take steps toward freedom and find a partner who better compliments you and increases your joy in life. You are smart, you have a career and the ability to support yourself, you have a good way with words, many talents. Kids do grow up and leave the nest, that is part of the circle of life (I think they try to get you to hate them first to make the separation easier for everyone). But later they often realize how much they still need you and love you and come back (not to live, but to become your friend and child again). I was very mad at my mom for years and now I feel very much closer to her.

Life isn't easy for anyone, it is hard for most people. You have a biochemical imbalance that makes it hard to focus on what is good. But there is so much good. You have a helping nature, you have things to give the world, and it would be a great loss for you to leave before your time because things like your marriage suck and your daughter is 18. Try the UM program, keep trying things to get the biochemistry corrected or at least improved. Everything is connected. Work to make your life happier and maybe the ST won't come as much. Getting the biochems right will help you work on your life.

We're here for you and we'd miss you a lot if we lost you.

Liz
