Neither party has a monopoly on extremism and violence. Environmental activists routinely spike trees, resulting in maimed and sometimes killed lumberjacks. Black power activists have openly encouraged and practiced violence against whites and the police for decades. Animal rights activists have threatened and attacked researchers and used explosives and arson to destroy laboratories. During the cold war communists like the Rosenberg's committed treason against the US. I am pretty you couldn't find anyone supporting these activities at a Republican convention, but if you went to a Democratic convention you would find many supporters and apologists.

I personally consider myself a liberal, but in the classical sense, not what people use the word for today. I see things I like and dislike in both major US political parties. To claim that only one party is moral and logical is wrong. If you go back to slavery, was it not Lincoln and the Republican party that ended it?
