The last thing I'd want to do is offend anybody, but the PC mindset has become so ubiquitous that it often seems like people actively go around looking for something to be pissed off about, and organizations will go overboard in proactively trying to avoid it.

Here's my favorite example. Several years back, the Cartoon Network announced plans to cease showing Speedy Gonzalez cartoons in the U.S. market, because some of the characters therein could be perceived as being stereotypical and insulting. However, they never stopped showing unadulterated Speedy Gonzalez cartoons on their Latino network, because Speedy is a HUGE icon in Mexico, Central and South America. I can confirm this from personal experience. Just go to Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, etc., and you'll constantly see images of Speedy on buses, billboards, t-shirts, etc. So, am I to understand that these cartoons are only offensive in the United States? Crazy, crazy.
