She slept entirely through the time he was cleaning her and arranging the bairns, letting herself recooperate just a little bit. It wasn't until he was murmuring that her bairns wanted to meet her that she finally opened her eyes, focusing them on him for a moment. A weak smile tipped her lips, one claw raising slowly to brush against his cheek as she watched him for a moment - love for him radiating through her thoughts and reaching him easily. A low breath slid through her body, finally able to get in a good lung full of air before she shifted her head, albeit a bit slowly, to look down at the eggs that he was waiting to bring to her side. "You can bring them over..." She murmured softly, finally, the first time she had spoken nearly all day. Her voice was rough and weak sounding but she did want to see her eggs and every instinct inside of her said that she needed to be warming the babies right then, keeping them close to her heart to care for them and to protect them. She stretched out a little bit, wincing at the pain in her body, left over aches and burns, before she rested her head back down on the edge of the nest once more. With blue eyes that were hooded and tired, she watched as he moved over their eggs, one by one, to her side. It took the last bit of energy she had to lift her head and snake it back to nuzzle each one of them, greeting each little bairn in her own way. When that task was complete, she dropped her head once more, her eyes closing even as she whispered to her mate. "You should call Durgan and have him come and check them out..." For a moment, she just fell silent but then a soft thought was whispered into her mates mind. Thank god it wasn't seven, right Big clutches ran in his family and while four was large for a first birth, Heather's last clutch had been seven whelps.
