His eyes lifted to his brother, his brow furrowed. She would nay do anything to put the whelps into harms way, nay on purpose at least. He insisted, feeling the need to defend his sister in law. His brow furrowed and scowled at Dane for a moment before his expression softened and he turned back to Tiernan. Aye, that is the way that they have chosen to do things. Bree will be able to change forms until a short while before the eggs are to be delivered. From then on in her pregnancy she will have to stay in dragon form until the eggs are birthed. After they are delivered, the whelps remain in the shell for at least a month, sometimes longer, and she will need to be in form to keep them warm and protected and whatnot. Some of our women, like my cousin, choose to do things a bit differently, changing immediatly after the eggs are delivered and keeping them warm by bringing them into the home and using artificial light, heating lamps, and warm cribs. He shrugged a little. It really depends on the female, which route she will choose. He actually didn't know how Dane and Bree would handle that but they had some to think about it. Usually, the Laird was a bit more traditional about things then the other dragons and would prepare a nest and a nursury for the wee whelps but it was really up to Dane and Bree. Later in the pregnancy, many women choose to remain in the dragon form even when they donnae have too just because it is hard to remain in human form when carrying three.... He paused, looking to Dane with a smirk, letting him know he wasn't giving anything away. ...or more eggs within their womb. The dragon forms gives them more room and is better adept to handle the extra weight and size. He was in his element here, explaining about the body and how things worked, how they lived and survived as a species. Since Dane was a part of this man, he felt comfortable sharing things with him.
