Clearing his throat, he reached out to her, inviting her to sit with him as he sat up. He tugged her down into his lap and wrapped an arm around her, looking between her and the eggs.) I ne'er really thought about that.. mayhap they will be twins.. we willnae ken until they hatch. (He pressed his lips to her shoulder, thinking about nothing in particular, listening mostly to her thoughts instead of his own. His chin moved to her shoulder as she questioned him again.) I am nae sure how mixing white into my line will affect it. If the next Laird is amongst this clutch, he will be red.. beyond that I cannae say. There are green, red, gold and silver in my line. Ye ken what their element is by their eyes.. (He opened his mouth after each question, only to have another thrown at him, so he just closed his mouth and smiled a little as she bombarded him with both thoughts and feelings of nervousness. He rocked her a little.) Hey.. (He stopped there and laughed out loud as her thought about him having been a dragon all his life hit him.) Ye've been a dragon all yer life too, lass.. just nay in the right form. Yer instincts will still guide ye.. and I ken enough to get us by. Heather already said she would help if we needed anything. (He nodded towards the window.) They will eat meat as soon as they are hatched.. just like us. Tis why I've been hunting each morning, just in case they hatched. They will ken ye by yer scent and the sound of yer voice.. they will nae bite ye, hard, I think.. and if they do, well, ye punish em, aye? (He pursed his lips, looking down at the egg, the egg-hooked nose that kept poking out was too dark to discern color yet.) Ye dinna have to let them out.. I will scent mark the balcony and they will go out there.. if we were in the nesting site I would mark an area in the woods. (He shrugged.. so the balcony would be a port-a-potty, it would work out alright.) Durgan will be able to discern anything that is wrong wi' em if they are sick or somethin like that.. and they will let us ken if they are cold. Bree.. (He stopped her with his hand on hers.) Stop fashin' so much, aye? It will be fine. (He laughed when she came up with another question and shook his head.) Nay, ye will be around them most in human form right off.. so let them bond to ye like this. They will ken yer dragon form by scent and bond then as well.
