(She didn't go back into her friend's arms willingly, it was a battle of wills that only ended when he nipped her and she realized he was holding her. Until that point she had been in such a state of panicked anger that she had no idea what she was doing. She was panting, her tiny body covered in sweat and trembles were running through her, anger making her want to cry. Dane was hurting Kaden and she couldnt' stand it.) (He never removed his gaze from hsi brother, not even when his scales were being scratched at, when several came free of his hide and blood dripped down his chest. He just gazed at Kaden.. his little brother, now a stranger.. yet.. he smelled the same, sounded the same.. everything in him was at war.) We could have worked out our differences. (He said with a soft note to his voice, a sadness born from being a father and knowing what it was to love those that looked up to you.. to know what it was like to have responsibility for those creatures that needed your guidance. He had failed in his responsibility with Kaden, and he would not with his clutch.) I did nae mean to fail ye, lad. (He said with that same sadness, and looked to Anya with a prideful sort of half smile.) At least I ken that someone is looking after ye. (He knew that there was no way his remark would lighten the mood, not when Kaden was hurting so deeply. Only time would tell if these wounds could be healed, if these burned bridges could be crossed again.) (She whimpered as he lowered his head and nuzzled her, squirming a little in his grasp.) Mayhap tis time ye stop fighting, Kaden.. (She said sadly, though she was still baring her teeth at Dane.)
