Why was JFK Bad for America was it all just a big popularity contest with his young looks or was it deeper then that. Was he bad in Defense or was he bad at everything and was just a good spokes person.

JFK was worse than a bad president, he was an incactive president. From his campaign to reach the office to the Bay of Pigs, Kennedy did nothing but look good and throw around fluff. In fact, if you look at the history of the Kennedy family itself, very little has come from them, except Maria Shriver who started several helpful aid programs later in life. Jack Kennedy (JFK's father) was unqualified to be ambassador and did little while in that position except womanize and drink. To be fair, JFK didn't really live long enough to do much in office, however, it is stupid to judge a man's life simply by how he died.

Presidents are not elected to make policy. By the Constitution, that is not the job. Presidents are elected to represent a people, a nation - to provide hope, guidance, and a sense of duty. President Kennedy inspired a generation and a nation. He served his country to the best of his ability and in doing so, he brought together a nation which had for many years been divided. Moral character is not what determine's greatness. It is the difference one has made in the lives of others after one has gone.

I think Kennedy was a good President. He had his priorities in the wrong order, as far as his personal life goes. BUT, he tried to do right by all of the people in America.

I have to say in all my years on this planet this is the first time I've seen anyone even try to make this accusation. JFK the worst president ever??? John Kennedy was one of the most inspirational and charming leaders this country has ever had. That alone saves him from being the "worst president", on top of that he was a legitimate war hero. Not a war victim-who pretends-to-be-a-hero like John McCain (McCain's definition of hero is, hey i was shot down and tortured! Sorry, but that makes u a victim, not a hero, JFK's PT Boat was cut in half and he swam for miles carrying a wounded man on his back to safety, eventually leading all of his men out of enemy territory and earning a medal for it. The back injury that he suffered stayed with him the rest of his life, although it didn't stop him from gettin busy with Marilyn Monroe and Angie Dickinson. Thats worth another medal in my book.) Add to that some of the most stirring oratory ever delivered by a president, The Berlin Wall speech, the Safe for Diversity speech, the Inaugural, etc. He stood up to the Soviets when they tried to put missiles in Cuba. One of the ballsiest moments in American history. He presided over a booming economy, largely created by a tax cut that he fought for and got. He said some nice things about civil rights and amost single handedly is responsible for the 98% Democratic voting record in the black community. JFK was a great great man. Nixon was the worst president ever.

I too grew up watching the Kennedy family. I was in first grade when JFK was assassinated. I was deeply saddened by the loss of JFK Jr. I had the occasion to see him on the New York City subway one evening on my way to a class. The subway car was almost empty. There were a few people. I feel as if though I have lost a good life long friend and am having a hard time coming to terms with his demise. The other day, I walked by where he lived and was hit with a very deep sense of loss and a sense of not wanting to be here myself. I don't know why. I didn't know you John, but may God Bless and be with you John. I pray that you're with the angels at your father's side and in the loving company of your wife Carolyn and her sister. I'll miss knowing that I could run into you anywhere in New York. You made yourself a regular person and we cherished you for that. Love Carmen.

I feel sorry for the cynical and sin stained attitude represented above. Romantically we all longed for a
prince of camelot because the king was snuffed along
with many civil rights activists in the decade of the
sixties. We are not powerless to renew the statesmanship
represented by john kennedy nor the promise represented
by john kennedy jr and his wife and sister in law. Every
baby born on this planet carries the potential to inherit camelot. We can go from hostility to hospitality and we
can go from conflict to confluence. We simply will not be
satisfied with win-lose solutions. In the name of camelot
we shall overcome and come over to collaboration leading
to win-win solutions. It takes passionate compassion. We
can live on in the tradition of camelot and americaspromise can and will be kept by ladies and gentlemen of good faith and goodwill there will be peace.
