hey you =),
1/2 an inch sounds normal to me, if not a full inch or more for some people! i'd relax, you're safe. wait until your period ends, it will most likely go back. but wait until it's over, then measure. i was on birth control last year, the dr. put me on the lowest dose he had, due to my size. find out what dose you're on, and if you can go lower....not because of weight gain, dont worry! but oftentimes the drs can put you on the wrong dose for your size, therefore some adverse side effects can take place. as for weight gain, some people do and others dont. i didn't, but i did notice heightened cravings around the time of my period, but by igoring these cravings i didnt gain weight, just stuck to sort of an eating plan. weight gain is something pretty much all everyone gets around the time of their period, pill or no pill....anyhow, good luck and let us know how it all works out! also- relax! you havent had your period in a long time...your body is probably going to respond a little differently for a while. it might even be a little confused, you know?...take care girl =)
