(He sighed, watching Skeeter with expressive brown eyes. He knew what it was like to worry about losing a child, and he knew all about feeling as helpless as Skeeter felt.. but he also knew that being supportive to the child's mother could distract those thoughts a little. He felt so bad for Skeeter, for Gia and was praying for the baby.. that whatever had spooked the doctors would turn out to be nothing major. The corner of his lips twitched when Skeeter said that the babe had cried.) That is a wonderful thing, Skeet.. we know the baby is alive and healthy if he is crying.. they might just need to check some things. (He patted Skeeter on the back, trying his damndest to distract him from what he knew was a frightening ordeal.) Congrats, man. (He opened his mouth to keep talking, but he could see over Skeeters shoulder through the window into the ER and one of the doctors was heading over to talk to them.) You just have to tell her to be strong until you know what's going on. That's all any of us can do. (He said, somewhat distractedly as the doctor emerged and crossed to Skeeter.) (She cleared her throat as she offered her hand to the baby's father, nodding to the other man that stood with him.) I am Dr. Carlson. (She said to Remy, since Skeeter knew her from all of Gia's past visits.) I am sorry to cause you any sort of anxiety over this, Mr. Mallenoch, but we had to act quickly. I could tell on the monitors that your son's heart rate was much too fast, and when we delivered him his coloring wasn't as good as I would have liked. We moved him quickly into the ICU department and we are monitoring him very closely. Aside from his high heart rate he is a healthy baby, Mr. Mallanoch, and his coloring has returned.. we would like to take him to his mother now, to see if he will eat. (She reached out and laid her hand on Skeeter's arm.) Congratulations, Mr. Mallonoch.. he's a beautiful boy. (She smiled as reassuringly as she could before leaving both men to return for the baby.)
