Pittsburgh TV-Radio Discussion Forum
Welcome. This board is to discuss Pittsburgh TV and radio issues and to exchange opinions. No registration is required, but it is a moderated forum. Posts are reviewed before they appear on the board.
A few tips:
Do NOT snipe at other posters. Discuss the issues, but don't throw insults at other posters.
Do NOT tell anyone to "Get a life," which is guaranteed to get a post deleted.
Do NOT suggest that posters are critical of on-air personnel because "you're jealous."
Do NOT discuss the personal lives of on-air personnel unless it has some relevance to their work.
Do NOT engage in name-calling or using derisive nicknames for broadcasters.
You can contact the Moderator through the "contact Forum Admin" link above.

- Vinny makes a mistake - Deadspin finds out -- Gee, see where this is headed?, 07:00:22 03/17/13 Sun
This from John Mehno's column today - by the way, it's the column they SHOULD be running twice a week in the Beaver County Times instead of the misogynistic, racist, chauvinist crap Madden puts out.
FOOT IN MOUTH
Vinnie Richichi had an unfortunate gaffe on 93.7 The Fan’s “Vinnie and Cook” midday show last week that caught the attention of the website Deadspin.
For reasons known only to him, Vinnie brought up the national sport of Afghanistan. Unfortunately he mispronounced the word, and instead repeatedly used a word that is common for a practice in the adult film industry. He said it seven times in 45 seconds.
Probably 98 percent of the audience didn’t get it, but management took no chances. A staff e-mail declared any further discussion of the subject off limits.
Maybe the bigger question is how Deadspin became aware of the episode, and wound up with the audio clip that was posted. Surely Deadspin doesn’t monitor The Fan and wouldn’t be likely to notice a segment that lasted less than a minute. Almost makes you wonder if someone in the building did the tattling.
Ok, let's play....who do you think sent it to Deadspin?
I'll give you only one guess, because there's no way you're getting it wrong.

- Rob Pratte -- Penguin, 06:02:56 03/28/13 Thu
I stopped listening to KDKA on the weekends because of Rob Pratte and only put up with him for a few minutes when listing to the news weekday mornings. This morning he was doing sports and discussing the Jerome Iginla trade. Twice Larry Richert asked him the name and he responded Iginle. That is my spelling, as he pronounced it as if it ended in "Lee".
