The fact he posted he didn’t get to say goodbye to “my viewers”, well, talent like him needs to understand it’s not the Jeff Verszyla show. You are just a small replaceable part of a news organization.
Why has Bob Pompeani lasted 30+ years?
Main reason: no ego. And also is good at his job.
Jeff may feel like he was irreplaceable but part of that too is previous management feeding the beast. Never worked weekends, the constant vacations, the terrible delivery they never made him correct, etc.
Does it suck losing a job no matter what time of year? Of course. He will have his contract paid off so he won’t need to work for a while. Hope he lands on his feet, but hope he understands no one is ever safe.
