Thanks, john (it is tiring), but not sure about the last point.

If the complaints lead to Madden being perp-walked in handcuffs outa the studio, management will quickly tire of his shenanigans. But failing that, they will more watch the ratings numbers, the ad revenue, invite Mark in for shrimp cocktail and steak and say, "How's the family and friends, Mark?" -- even if they have to bite their tongues to do it because they secretly can't stand him, and offer him another raise. They will not rock the boat as he is their top revenue stream, their horse.

But when the numbers are falling substantially, not just a little one month but a lot month after month, will the suits start to feel the earth move under their feet. And the conversation with management, with no steak but only a bottled water or a coffee, will have them carefully, reluctantly saying, "Mark, where do you see yourself in 10 years, five years, two years?" The seed will be planted, that time is marching on, and so will they, away from Madden, if the numbers don't soon improve.

Mark will hang on as long as he can, as he's too old and used up to make another play, the numbers will erode further, and one day an envelope will be on his desk, with info on severence, and a security guard will see him open the envelope, suddenly appear beside Mark, and will pleasantly say to Mark, "Hi, Mark, the bigwigs say I should escort you out. Here's a couple cardboard boxes for your stuff. We have 10 minutes." (There will be no banquet and engraved watch for decades of service).

Mark will carry a box, the guard carrying another, and Mark will say to the guard loudly without yelling as he nears the exit, "You are an ass and so are the bosses around here -- they always have been! Good riddance!"

Then it's unemployment comp, Medicare, Social Security, at least. At best, someone figures he had good numbers once, why not give Madden a try, as our ass-face radio lineup is atrocious, and Mark has a new workplace, desk and microphone. Mark will accept the job at a vastly cut rate, because he is addicted to running his mouth over the radio waves. Bird gotta fly, fish gotta swim .... He's baaa-aaack!
