I'd say it more has to do with the "new format". It's harder than people may think to try and keep a 3 hour show going when there are no callers and you are stuck to interviews intermingled with news/traffic/sports updates. I had no problem with her when she filled in for Marty. I think that if she's allowed to "spread her wings" a bit, the show itself won't seem so boring.
