Darned if they do, darned if they don't.... In fairness to all of the stations....Back on Monday, this "storm" was being monitored. Throughout the weather reports all week, the word "potential" was used properly. As the weekend closed in, the predictions were "up to a foot" in the "area." The problem, IMO, is how the stations define "area." When it suits them, they seem to include up to Lawrence County. Lawrence County isn't newsworthy enough to consistently call it our "area" unless a major storm is brewing. Coupled that with a relatively mild winter so far, the first "big" storm has potential. Meteorology is not a perfect science. They did share that there were too many variables to "nail this" forecast down. I'll give them a pass since there was some heavy snow. I think too many Pittsburghers don't really hear what is being said and feel one foot of snow= one foot of snow everywhere in my opinion. I can do without the extra staff driving around in cars. Simple views from Weather Bug cameras around the "area" would suffice.
