Since we are into the changing rules thing, when did a small block
car in real street get a 200 pound weight break over a big block car.
In the past races held at Prescott under deadmans rule small blocks cars
Weighed 3200 pounds, and big blocks 3300 pounds. When did this change?
Why did this change? Are small block guys afraid of the big block cars, and want more of A Advantage? Its bad enough that we have 440 inch SBF’s and 500 inch AMC’s.
And lets not forget that Pontiac form Louisiana, how do you know if it is a small block or a big block? If I were him I’d say it’s a 350 too and take the weight break. Who’s to know its not. Now you give them a 200 pound break! Right now the biggest big blocks are Curtis Box, Terry Schroeder, the twins with the BBC mustang, and, O doctor parkers 540.But their not over 560 inches. That just a little over 100 CI’s difference in a small block and a big block. How about a 100 pounds difference in weight. O I know maybe you don’t want to see your hometown boy get beat. Come on guys lets get the weight put back to 3200 pounds for a small block, and 3300 for a big block. Now I see you let clutch less transmissions in. Let’s give them a 200 pound penalty. Maybe then they
Won’t run away from everyone with the 3 to 4 tenths difference a clutch less transmission makes. That sure would suck to have one car so far out in front of such a close field. Not To mention the racers that it would run off, because they can make up that much time on a combo that is pushed to the max already.
